Founded on 13th January 2017, UN Funken is a carnival association established with the purpose of contributing to the fostering, maintenance and further development of the carnival custom and its cultural heritage in Bonn through participation in carnival processions, holding of carnival sessions and similar events for UN employees, their families and friends as well as employees, organisations, i

nstitutions and individuals, closely connected with the UN and sustainable development. UN Funken is a not-for-profit organisation and is NOT an official organisation of the United Nations. Members of the UN Funken carnival association are associated with this group strictly in their personal capacity and do not represent the United Nations in any association-related activities undertaken by them. Wir stellen Euch vor: Das neue Prinzenpaar der Session 2026/27

Mit Torsten Janßen als Prinz Torsten I. und Petra Schönen als Bonna Petra I. bekommt die Session 2026/27 ein echtes Dream-Team an die Spitze des Karnevals. ❤️🤍Heute wurden das neue Prinzenpaar im AMERON Bonn Hotel Königshof, der Hofburg der kommenden Session, von Vorstand des Festausschusses BONNER KARNEVAL unter der Leitung Marlies Stockhorst und Mirko Feld vorgestellt.

Torsten bringt nicht nur rheinisches Herz, sondern auch jede Menge Engagement und Erfahrung aus dem Bonner Karneval mit. Ob als Vorstandsmitglied des Großen Senates Bonn, Schatzmeister des Elferrates der Ehrengarde der Stadt Bonn oder Netzwerker in seiner Wirtschaftsprüfer- und Steuerberaterkanzlei – er lebt den Fastelovend und verbindet Menschen.

Petra wiederum ist eine echte Powerfrau mit "Herzklopfen": Unternehmerin, dreifache Mutter und seit Kindertagen jeck durch und durch. Wer sie kennt, weiß – Karneval ist für sie nicht nur Brauch, sondern pure Leidenschaft! 💃
Gemeinsam stehen die beiden für das, was den Bonner Karneval ausmacht: Gemeinschaft, Lebensfreude und ganz viel Herz. Wir können uns also jetzt schon auf eine Session voller Emotionen, Tradition und unvergesslicher Momente freuen. Unter dem Motto „Tradition im Hätz, Fastelovend he un jetzt!“ geht’s am 11.11.2026 wieder los – natürlich stilecht auf dem Bonner Marktplatz vor dem Alten Rathaus. Und spätestens zur Proklamation am 08.01.2027 im Maritim wird klar: Diese sehr kurze Session wird legendär! 🥳

Can carnival be sustainable? The says of course!
Together with the Festausschuss BONNER KARNEVAL we have been working to mitigate the emissions from the parade in our wonderful city of Bonn.de since 2019. As well as ensuring a high percentage of our Kamelle (throwing materials) is sustainable - last parade we managed to have 75% sustainable options thanks to support from our donors and our banking partner Volksbank Köln Bonn eG. 3 x Alaaf

It feels like was was so long ago, but we wanted to take a moment, especially with everything going on in the world, to remember reign and why she decided to celebrate the 2025/2026 session by sharing the message of and the symbols from her Lithuanian culture she drew upon during the Carnival celebrations in this lovely City of Bonn.de.

🧶🍭From crafting our ordens and pins, to packing Kamelle, to proudly riding our bikes in the parade, every moment is powered by teamwork and shared joy.

The spirit is built on members who show up, support each other, and make the magic happen together 🧚🏼‍♀️

Inspired last session by and the message of , we are proud to be more than just a carnival group, we are a strong, supportive community where everyone plays a part and every contribution matters.

Ash Wednesday, has come and gone, the session is now over, we had a wonderful time.

(Tamelyte) and all of the Sparkles are truly grateful for the incredible support and encouragement we received. A heartfelt thank you to SWB Bus und Bahn for the e-bikes that carried us through the parade and many thanks to Volksbank Köln Bonn eG, whose generous donation enabled us to hand out even more (fair-trade sweets) to the Bonn carnavalists.

On 11/11, we’ll be back, but until then we’ll continue working towards more and advancing the .
