We're celebrating one of our own this week!

A huge shoutout to ๐Œ๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฆ ๐€๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ฒ๐ข, who represented the UNCCD Youth Caucus at the recent Global Environment Facility (GEF) Regional Workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The workshop covered the GEF's strategic priorities and funding architecture, innovative financing mechanisms like blended finance and conservation bonds, community-led environmental action through the Small Grants Programme, project development, monitoring and evaluation, and the critical role of civil society and youth engagement in environmental programming

Thank you, Miriam, for carrying youth voices into these important spaces. And thank you to the GEF for consistently engaging and trusting young people to be part of the conversation.

We're looking for researchers to help assess Youth Engagement in the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification process and contribute to a report for COP, as mandated by Decision 5/COP16.

Selected researchers will support surveys, consultations, interviews, data synthesis, and drafting the final report.

We're thrilled to announce that applications are NOW OPEN for mentors and mentees to join the Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH) 2026 Mentorship Initiative!

The initiative, launched in 2024, is now relaunched with additional structure and under a shortened timeframe to increase engagement.

The initiative will now be conducted annually, culminating in a learning webinar and certificates of completion for successful participants.
