FoodWise milestone: State of the Art Report & Best Practices Review completed

We are pleased to share that the FoodWise State of the Art Report and the review of best practices have now been finalised.

But what does this actually mean?

In FoodWise, this work explored how food education, sustainability, digitalisation, and artificial intelligence are already being discussed and applied across Europe in the field of Vocational Education and Training (VET).

The report highlights an important reality:
young people are increasingly surrounded by ultra-processed foods, digital food marketing, fast consumption habits, and confusing online information. At the same time, many teachers and trainers need more support, tools, and structured resources to address these issues in an engaging and practical way.

Our review therefore focused on key questions such as:
🥗 How can VET learners better understand the health impact of ultra-processed foods?
🌍 How can food choices be connected to sustainability and responsible consumption?
📱 How can digital tools support critical thinking instead of passive consumption?
🤖 How can AI and innovative learning methods make food education more relevant and motivating?

The findings will now directly support the next FoodWise phases, including the development of:

learning materials for VET,
AI-supported educational approaches,
immersive learning solutions,
and practical resources that connect food literacy with everyday life and future professions.

FoodWise is not only about raising awareness. It is about helping young people build the knowledge, judgement, and confidence to make healthier and more sustainable food choices in a digital world.

Curious about what BRIDGE is all about? 🌍

Over the past months, we’ve been sharing different moments from the project — meetings, exchanges, first results…

If you’d like to see the bigger picture, we’ve now put everything together on our website:

You’ll find a short and clear overview of:
– what BRIDGE is about
– what we’re working on
– and who the project is for

BRIDGE brings together partners from Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, and the Netherlands, and focuses on supporting migrant youth, including unaccompanied minors, as well as the people working with them every day.

We’ll keep sharing updates here — but the website is a good place to start if you want to understand the project better.

Feel free to have a look 💙
