In 2020, during the COVID lockdown, I found myself back in my village with an unexpected opportunity.
During that period I completed 20 different online courses, including a professional certification in Digital Psychology. The experience opened my eyes to something powerful: access to knowledge can completely transform how people see their possibilities.
Yet in my community, many young people had little or no access to digital learning opportunities. Brilliant minds were simply disconnected from the tools that could expand their horizons.
So I gathered a few children in my locality and began teaching them during the pandemic.
What began as a small informal learning group soon grew into something larger.
That moment became the beginning of Emancipation Development Initiative.
From those early sessions, the initiative has grown steadily.
Since then we have:
• Trained 380+ youths in digital skills through the My Skill Bootcamp program
• Provided computer literacy training for 127 hearing-impaired students
• Counselled over 700 students on career pathways
• Donated computers to schools to improve digital learning access
What started with a few students during a global crisis has become a growing mission: expanding access to knowledge, skills, and opportunity for young people who might otherwise be left behind.
And we are only getting started.
