Die Kunst von ART at WORK stößt an, sie bringt das Unhinterfragte, das Hingenommene, das Erstarrte in Bewegung und eröffnet Momente der Möglichkeit von Veränderung, der Gestaltung von Neuem. Diese Kunst weiß es nicht besser als die Leute, sondern versteht sich als Kommunikationsvermittler einer gemeinschaftlichen, öffentlichen und politischen Auseinandersetzung darüber wie es anders sein könnte. The art of ART at WORK impulses and brings the unquestioned, accepted norms and the fixed into movement and opens moments for the possibility for change and the formation of something new. This art doesn‘t put itself above people, but sees itself as a medium for making communication possible for an open, public process of debate of how life could be different.

ART at WORK had a very successful Wackelpeter 2026, despite the wet start to the day.
Working on the theme of Butterflys to raise awareness about the Insect world around us and how it is rapidly dwindling. Kids and Adults working together modeling in clay, creating a fantasy world for the butterflys filled with friends, creatures and useful objects. Its always lovely to see how in all the hectic of the event that people can get in the Zone with us and find peace and creativity for themselves.
A big Thank You to the ART at WORK team, Kyungwon, Reinhold und Stephanie for their hard work.

ART at WORK hat einen sehr erfolgreichen „Wackelpeter 2026“, trotz des regnerischen Tagesbeginns erlebt.
Unter dem Motto „Schmetterlinge“ wollten wir das Bewusstsein für die Insektenwelt um uns herum schärfen und darauf aufmerksam machen, wie schnell sie schwindet. Kinder und Erwachsene arbeiteten gemeinsam am Modellieren mit Ton und schufen eine Fantasiewelt für die Schmetterlinge, voller Freunde, Kreaturen und nützlicher Gegenstände. Es ist immer wieder schön zu sehen, wie die Menschen trotz der Hektik der Veranstaltung gemeinsam mit uns in den Flow kommen und Ruhe und Kreativität für sich selbst finden können.
Ein großes Dankeschön an das ART at WORK-Team, Kyungwon, Reinhold und Stephanie, für ihren tollen Einsatz.

🚩 10. März – Flagge zeigen für Tibet

Deutschlandweit hissen Städte, Gemeinden und engagierte Menschen aus der Zivilgesellschaft die tibetische Flagge.
Danke für eure langjährige Solidarität.

Nur durch euch ist diese bundesweite Menschenrechtsaktion seit 30 Jahren so sichtbar. ✊

Am 10. März erinnern Menschen auf der ganzen Welt an den tibetischen Volksaufstand von 1959, den die chinesische Armee blutig niederschlug.

Auch am Kreishaus in Mettmann wurde heute Morgen die tibetische Flagge gehisst!

Give a Hand to Free Tibet is a project very close to my heart.
It is about freedom of choice, undoing injustices, working on a sustainable solution for protecting the environment and world peace.
Back in 1998 ART at WORK was asked to join World Artist for Tibet action to raise awareness about the situation in Tibet. Like many areas of this planet, where one group of people take the land away from another group of people for their own gain, usually killing or enslaving the locals. This was the situation as China marched in to Tibet in 1950.

The 10th March 1959 is now remembered every year as Tibetan National Uprising Day.
It commemorates an uprising in Lhasa, Tibet, when Tibetans took to the streets to protect the 14th Dalai Lama from abduction by Chinese forces and to protest against Chinese rule.
As a symbol of hope and peace, hundreds of town halls in Germany raise the Tibetan Flag as a sign that the Tibetan people and their culture are not forgotten. The Tibet Initiative Deutschland started this action 30 Years ago, ART at WORK has been continuing this tradition in Bielefeld since 1999.
This year was blessed with sunny weather and the support of the new Deputy Mayor of Bielefeld Frank Strothmann as well as many Tibet supporters and friends. A big thank you to Margret Köhre Tibet Initiative OWL, Deutschland e.V. for organising the event.

After a busy week preparing for the children’s festival in Bielefeld today. Another very successful ART at WORK action happily completed.
A big thank you to our Team, who worked tirelessly and supportively the whole day. Helping children and their parents to be creative with clay. To give space to fantasy and experiment. To help the process we give them a simple play area,and a direction, „Jungle“ and ask them to help us make creatures that live there.
This year there was a lot of great ideas and concentrated work.
I even had time to make a few pieces. My one time a year to play with clay again.
