FIVE Ways to Make Your Ministry Grow
✅ 1. Grow your ministry through PRAYER
📖 “Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Explanation:
Prayer is the foundation of every true ministry. A ministry does not grow first in number, it grows first in the spirit. When leaders and members pray, they invite God’s presence, direction and power into the work.
Jesus Himself did not start ministry without prayer.
📖 Luke 6:12 – Jesus prayed all night before choosing His disciples.
When a ministry prays:
God gives wisdom for decisions
God brings the right people
God removes spiritual obstacles
God releases power for impact
👉 If prayer dies, the ministry becomes only activity, not spiritual work.
✅ 2. Grow your ministry through the WORD of GOD
📖 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season.” – 2 Timothy 4:2
Explanation:
People do not grow by motivation alone. They grow by the Word of God.
The Word corrects, builds faith, changes character and produces spiritual maturity.
📖 Romans 10:17 – Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
When the Word is taught clearly and truthfully:
believers become stable
new converts grow faster
error and confusion reduce
the church becomes strong, not shallow
👉 A ministry that ignores the Word will attract people for a moment, but it will not keep them strong.
✅ 3. Grow your ministry through LOVE and CARE
📖 “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.” – John 13:35
Explanation:
Love is the atmosphere where people stay and grow.
Many people come to church because of God, but they remain because of love.
📖 Acts 2:46–47 shows that the early church shared life together and God added people daily.
Practical love means:
following up visitors
visiting the sick and the weak
listening to people’s problems
restoring those who fall
👉 A ministry without love becomes cold and people slowly disappear.
✅ 4. Grow your ministry through DISCIPLESHIP and TRAINING
📖 “Commit these to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” – 2 Timothy 2:2
Explanation:
A ministry grows when leaders are raised, not when one person does everything.
Jesus trained the twelve so that His work would continue.
📖 Ephesians 4:11–12 says leaders are given to equip the saints for the work of ministry.
Training people helps:
workers become confident
leadership burden is shared
ministry continues even when leaders are absent
new ministries and branches can be born
👉 A ministry that does not train people will struggle when leadership is tired or removed.
✅ 5. Grow your ministry through EVANGELISM
📖 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.” – Matthew 28:19
Explanation:
Evangelism is God’s main way of bringing new people into the church.
The church is not only a gathering place, it is a sending place.
📖 Proverbs 11:30 – He that wins souls is wise.
Evangelism includes:
street outreach
crusades
personal witnessing
inviting people to church
youth outreach and community work
📖 Acts 5:42 – They preached daily, and many were added.
👉 When evangelism stops, growth becomes slow and the ministry turns inward.
