Explore grounding, body awareness, and energy through contemporary and African dance practices. This workshop invites participants to discover how weight, strength, breath, and attention shape movement—while developing greater connection with the body.

Through guided exercises, floor work, improvisation, and weight-shifting practices, participants will explore stability, mobility, tension, release, and new ways of moving.

✨De Là à Là (From Here to There)
Martina Gunkel & Sanga Ouattara✨

What happens when a body crosses a border?

De Là à Là follows two performers moving in opposite directions: from Europe to Africa and from Côte d’Ivoire to Europe. Through dance, presence, and confrontation, the piece explores migration, identity, privilege, and the different realities attached to crossing borders.

The body becomes an archive—carrying history, memory, inherited rhythms, and lived experience. A powerful reflection on how places shape us, what we carry within us, and what others project onto us.

✨This body that remembers – Kettly Noël✨

What happens when a language becomes movement? What remains when it is no longer the colonizer’s language?

This body that remembers is a poetic journey through African colonial memory, hybrid identities, and the languages that shape who we are. Through movement, rhythm, breath, and sound, the body becomes an archive of displacement, resistance, and transformation.

A powerful dialogue between dance and live music, exploring what can be remembered—and expressed—through the body when words are not enough.

WORKSHOP

Spoken Dance - Künstlerische Audiodeskription im Tanz
mit Naomi Sanfo-Ansorge

So, 20. September, 13:30 Uhr
Uferstudios Berlin | Studio 2

Dance theatre for children aged 6 and up
Kossi S. Aholou-Wokawui, Edem Meier Akakpo, Dessa Ganda✨

What happens when there is no space for our emotions? When pressure, conflict, and insecurity suddenly explode in the schoolyard?

WIR explores the big emotions of childhood through dance, theatre, and humor. Between games, fights, and challenges, children become friends, outsiders, leaders, or followers.

With movement, energy, and wit, the performers bring everyday situations to the stage—sometimes loud, sometimes vulnerable, sometimes funny. The piece explores bullying, anger, and the search for belonging, while highlighting the importance of solidarity, handling conflict, and the need to be seen.

✨Move Together – Dance Connects
Meier Eden, Thomas Kunfira✨

Move Together – Dance Connects brings students from Albrecht-Dürer-Gymnasium in Neukölln together with choreographers Thomas Kunfira and Meier Eden to explore dance as a universal language.

Through Hip-Hop, Breakdance, Acrobatics, improvisation, and group work, the project focuses on creativity, self-expression, inclusion, and connection. Different physical abilities, cultural backgrounds, and personal stories become strengths, creating a space where everyone is seen and heard.

Rather than aiming for perfection, the project celebrates collaboration, empathy, and the joy of moving together.
