The IAKP encourages the safe, responsible, ethical and sustainable use of Kambo and aims to give back to the forest and indigenous peoples of the Amazon that so generously share their knowledge with us. The IAKP is a group of practitioners and other interested parties who seek to support and encourage the safe, responsible and legal use of Kambo through training, awareness raising, knowledge development and sharing, research, professional behaviour and best practice.

Join us in the beautiful Swiss countryside for an intensive, immersive IAKP Basic Kambo Practitioner Training. Set between Geneva and Bern, La Roulaz offers a peaceful setting for two weeks of learning, practice and personal development.

This is more than a training course. It is the beginning of a journey into responsible Kambo practice, combining traditional teachings with modern knowledge, practical skills and a strong focus on safety and ethics.

Our Modular Basic Practitioner Training is designed to give you the time and space to develop real confidence.

By spreading the training across four weekends, you’ll have the opportunity to absorb the teaching, revisit the material, continue your own relationship with Kambô, and fit the journey around your existing life and commitments.

With a maximum of four students, the focus is on personal guidance, hands-on practice and learning in a supportive environment.

The next UK Modular Training begins in September, and the early booking rate ends on 31 July.

Congratulations to Agnieszka, who has successfully completed her one-to-one Modular IAKP Practitioner Training in the UK.
It has been a real pleasure supporting Agnieszka throughout the training and seeing the commitment, care and thoughtfulness she brought to the process, as well as the confidence and practical understanding she developed along the way.
We are very happy to officially welcome her to the IAKP practitioner community and look forward to seeing how her practice continues to grow from here.
Agnieszka completed her training through a modular format with IAKP Teacher Andrew Mulquin. This allowed the course to be structured across separate training blocks rather than requiring one continuous residential stay.
Andrew is now taking expressions of interest for his next UK Modular Practitioner Training, running through September and October 2026.
The modular format may be particularly suitable for those who need to complete their training around work, family or other responsibilities.

Many of you may have heard about the recent death of an individual following a Kambô session in the UK. While we do not yet know all the facts surrounding this case, the information available suggests that contraindications may not have been fully understood, recognized, or respected.

This serves as an important reminder to all practitioners of the responsibility we carry when serving this medicine.

Please take the time to review and refresh your knowledge of all contraindications and cautions. Ensure that your client screening process is thorough, detailed, and never rushed. A comprehensive intake and clear understanding of a client’s health history are essential components of safe practice.

If you are uncertain about any contraindication, caution, medical condition, medication, or client circumstance, please reach out for guidance. It is always better to ask questions and seek support than to make assumptions.

By maintaining high standards, continuing our education, and supporting one another, we help keep this work as safe as possible while protecting both our clients and our community.

Green Light Bursary 2027 — Applications Open

Every year, the IAKP Green Light Bursary opens this path for 1–2 people to train as a Kambo Practitioner — with all costs covered. Two weeks of all-inclusive residential training, your first year of IAKP membership, and your practitioner profile on iakp.org.

This bursary exists because access to this path should not depend on your financial situation. If you come from a disadvantaged background, live with a disability, have refugee status, or plan to serve a community that truly needs it — this could be for you.

Two weeks in the forest with a small group, two teachers, and a frog that doesn’t negotiate. That’s more or less what you’re signing up for.

Our seminar house sits in the middle of the forest north of Berlin – lessons and treatments happen outdoors, under old trees, in all weather that isn’t actual rain. This is the 5th time we’re running this course. It’s known for its international groups and the kind of intensity that comes naturally when you spend 14 consecutive days in the same place with the same people – which, honestly, is part of what you’re there to learn.
