Edered - European Drama Encounters

EDERED is a non-profit organisation which is promoting intercultural work through drama and theatre with children and youth in Europe.

EDERED as an organization was founded in 1985. The first Children's Encounter however took place in 1982; the first Youth Encounter was held in 1987. The idea grow out of an initiative put forward by the Council of Europe in a seminar hosted by Sweden in Eskilstuna in 1979 under the title, "Children and Culture in Contemporary Europe". The Encounter usually last for two weeks and consist of an int

ensive inter-cultural workshop program and planned social activities. A final presentation with a public performance is getting developed from the participants during the Encounter. At this time 17 European countries are a part of EDERED. The actual board members are:
Katrin Janser - President (Switzerland)
Ivan Kristijan Majić – Vice President (Croatia)
Stephan Schnell – Vice President (Germany)
Damir Miholić – General Secretary (Croatia)
Mikko Väänänen – Treasurer (Finland)
