Das DNK schafft den Brückenschlag zwischen In- und Ausland. Hier läuft der Import - Export in Sachen Jugendarbeit - und das DNK ist die Schaltstelle. Zusammenarbeit zählt: Das DNK eine Arbeitsgemeinschaft des Deutschen Bundesjugendrings (DBJR), der Deutschen Sportjugend (dsj) und des Rings Politischer Jugend (RPJ). t über 50 Jahren existiert das DNK und hat seitdem das Ziel, sich weltweit für die Belange von Jugendlichen einzusetzen. Eine wichtige Aufgabe des DNK ist es, Vereinbarungen über die gemeinsame internationale Arbeit der deutschen Jugendverbände zu treffen. Das DNK ist allerdings kein Koordinierungsorgan für bilaterale Jugendbeziehungen. Diese werden von unseren drei Säulen (DBJR, dsj und RPJ) und ihren Mitgliedsorganisationen in Eigenverantwortung wahrgenommen. Die Geschäftsführung des DNK liegt beim Deutschen Bundesjugendring. Entscheidungen werden vom DNK-Vorstand getroffen, dem alle drei Säulen angehören. Er trifft sich ca. 4-5 Mal im Jahr. Ein jährlich gewähltes Team von DNK-Sprecher_innen koordiniert die Arbeit zwischen den Vorstandssitzungen.

The German National committee for international youth work (DNK) represents the German youth organisations in multilateral contexts. If that sounds complicated, don’t worry: it is actually quite easy – DNK builds a bridge between German organisations and their foreign counterparts or international platforms. DNK functions as the gateway for the ‘import and export’ of youth work. Teamwork matters: DNK is a joint working group of the German Federal Youth Council (DBJR), the Council of Political Youth organisations (RPJ) and the German Sports Youth (DSJ). We promote diversity in order to speak with a strong voice in the interest of all youth. The DNK has existed for 50 years, and has since then followed the aim to advocate worldwide for youth issues. An important task is to forge agreements for united international work between German youth organisations. DNK is not a co-ordinator for bilateral youth relations. Those are directly maintained and carried by our three pillars (DBJR, DSJ, RPJ) and their respective member organisations. The secretariat of DNK is part of the DBJR office. Decisions are taken by the DNK board, which consists of representatives of all three pillars. They meet four to five times a year. The work in between the board meetings is done by a team of DNK Spokespersons, elected for one year.
