Du bist Schwarz, Indigen oder eine Person of Color (BIPoC) und hast Lust auf künstlerischen Austausch, Begegnung und Gemeinschaft?

Dann komm am 10.09. von 18–20 Uhr in den Volkspark Wilmersdorf. Auf einer großen Patchworkdecke machen wir gemeinsam Kunst, kommen ins Gespräch und hinterlassen Spuren der Begegnung.

Keine künstlerische Vorerfahrung nötig – komm einfach so, wie du bist.

Flow Lines: Water, Infrastructure and Post-Socialist Futures

Flow Lines is a research and artistic project developed by Korsi Berlin e.V. and the Ukrainian Environmental Humanities Network (UEHN), bringing together artists, researchers and curators from Ukraine and Germany.

Through field research in Cherkasy, archival investigations and the development of new artistic responses, the project explores how rivers, dams and energy infrastructures shape landscapes, memories and everyday life. The gathering offers an opportunity to share work-in-progress, field observations and artistic approaches emerging from the project, while opening a broader conversation about ecological transformation, environmental violence, post-socialist infrastructures and possible futures.

The evening will take the form of an informal exchange with presentations, conversations and screenings by participating artists and researchers.

Inside Archives. Interventions on Leni Riefenstahl’s Nuba Work

How should problematic estates and archives be handled? Is it possible to draw critical attention to them without displaying ethically questionable material? With these and other questions, students in the Art in Context Master’s program at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK) and Sudanese artists engaged critically in the exhibition “Inside Archives. Interventions on Leni Riefenstahl’s Nuba Work”: Through installations, video and photographic works, as well as text and audio formats, the exhibition opens a dialogue between art, scholarship, and lived encounter seeking to reinterpret Riefenstahl’s images in order to subvert their power, expose their layers of meaning, and explore new forms of storytelling.

As part of the supporting program of the exhibition, we would like to warmly invite you to performances, listening session, and a panel discussion featuring international artists such as Theo Eshetu and Akinbode Akinbiyi. The participating artists of the exhibition will occasionally be present in the exhibition room for further engagement in conversations.

The exhibition project is curated by Julia Grosse (IfKiK, UdK) and Katrin Peters-Klaphake (DHM) in collaboration with Ludger Derenthal (Kunstbibliothek, Photography Collection, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin).
