💡As our Zeitgeist Fellowship is approaching its end next month, we want to have a look at all the insights our participants have gained from this program.

In terms of content, naturally, the most prevalent topic of this intergenerational Fellowship is age. One Fellow shares her learning experience: Paying more attention to issues concerning age helps her to engage with other colleagues, to be more aware. 🙌

Creating a multigenerational workspace takes time and effort, but our participants show how it can be done. 🚀

Last week, the 24 participants of RE:CONNECT, our Polish-German Civic Leadership Program, met in Berlin for a five-day in-person program. We captured one of those days in a little video so everyone can have a look into the atmosphere of the Berlin Academy, a time full of workshops, inspiring conversations, and many more great memories. ✨

When we launched the Zeitgeist Fellowship in March, we wondered how the ideas would translate. Today, the reward is seeing our Fellows turn theory into real organizational change.

As one Fellow put it: ✨ A spark in Berlin. 🗣️ A story from a peer. 💭 Space to refine with a partner.

Now, those ideas are practical strategies being implemented with HR. We don’t wait for the future of the multigenerational workplace but we actually design it. 🤝

Yesterday, the Berlin Academy of RE:CONNECT, our Polish-German Civic Leadership Program, came to an end. The 24 participants come together to talk about belonging, migration, and stories across borders. We can’t wait to see what inspiring projects they will create in support of their communities over the next months. 💭

Thank you to all of you for these five wonderful days. Swipe through and join us in reminiscing. ✨

Meet the 2026 RE:CONNECT cohort — 24 people bringing together different experiences, perspectives, and stories across borders🌍

For the first time, they meet in person this week in Berlin— coming from different places, with different paths, and not always carrying the same expectations.

What is RE:CONNECT?
It’s a Transnational Polish-German Civic Leadership Program implemented by Humanity in Action Germany in partnership with Humanity in Action Poland🇩🇪🇵🇱

While participants are based in either Germany or Poland, their backgrounds and stories go far beyond that. That is why, during the Berlin Academy from May 07-11, participants have the opportunity to get to know each other, testing perspectives, and gradually building a space where different experiences can be shared openly.

We are so excited to see these connections take shape. 🤝✨

The future of work is intergenerational -but only if we design it that way🚀

In March, the Zeitgeist cohort gathered in Berlin to think about the real-world questions of how generations can actually collaborate.

Swipe through for a look at our two days of community building and the methodology introduced by our facilitators to reshape the future of work.

Huge thanks to Linn Friedrichs and Johannes Lukas Gartner for accompanying the two days!

New cohort. New perspectives. New learning opportunities.

We officially launched the Zeitgeist Fellowship last Thursday! Now, the countdown is on for our on-site meeting in Berlin this weekend.
So hyped to see this cohort and our three facilitators bring their energy to the Zeitgeist Program. We are excited to see what will unfold in the next four months. 🚀

Belonging doesn’t require sameness.

What if belonging wasn’t about fitting into one box — but about building bridges across differences?

Across Europe, many young people navigate multiple identities, cultures, and communities. Our new transnational civic leadership program by Humanity in Action Germany and Humanity in Action Poland sees this diversity as a source of strength.

Young people from Poland and Germany will come together to explore belonging, democracy, and community engagement — and to practice creating spaces where people feel they belong.

📢 Applications are now open!
Program dates: April 2026 – January 2027

✨ What’s included?
• Online Kick-Off Lab
• Fully funded Berlin Academy
• Local Civic Challenges with microgrants
• Learning Sprints, mentoring & coaching
• Online Democracy in Action Forum

If you are 18–35 and based in Poland or Germany, we would love to hear from you.

Belonging is not something we simply have.
It’s something we practice.

It doesn’t automatically appear because we share a country, a language, or a community.

Belonging grows when people listen to each other.
When they show up.

When they make space for someone else’s story.
In other words, belonging is something we create together.

And it matters far beyond identity.
It matters for democracy.
When people feel they have a place in shaping the future, they participate.
They connect across differences.
They imagine new possibilities together.
That’s exactly the space we hope to create in our new transnational civic leadership program led by Humanity in Action Germany, in partnership with Humanity in Action Poland.

🌎 Young people from Poland and Germany will come together to explore belonging, democracy, and community engagement — and to practice building spaces where people feel they belong.
:lautsprecher: The Call for Applications is now open.
If you are 18–35, based in Poland or Germany, and curious about how belonging shapes democracy and community life, we would love to hear from you.
