Do you remember your family dance?

Do we give enough credit to the people behind the scenes? 👀

This year’s World Teachers’ Day theme, “Standing with Teachers,” reminds us of the people who make learning, growth and transformation possible.
After another successful ABURY Girls Gearing Up Academy cohort, we couldn’t be more grateful for every facilitator who poured their time, patience and energy into helping girls discover their potential.
Behind every session were early mornings, late nights, endless guidance and a whole lot of patience. 💛 And the impact speaks for itself: 97% of participants feel they have the skills to be a good leader.

To all our ABURY GGU trainers around the world: thank you!!💜

Thank you for showing up, sharing your knowledge and helping us bring the GGU curriculum to girls across the globe. Because sometimes, changing a girl’s life starts with simply being the person who believes in her and seeing the potential in her which she hasn’t seen yet.

Leave a “❤️” in the comments for all the ABURY GGU trainers.

Can you tell we’re missing the girls? 💜

Walking back through the halls of feels different when they’re empty. But somehow they’re still full of laughter, late nights, circle moments and friendships that crossed borders.
We’re back at BBIS, not just to remember, but to plan. The 2027 ABURY Girls Gearing Up Academy is already taking shape. ✨

What if one training could reach 800 girls? 🌍

That’s the idea behind our Train-the-Trainer Program AND IT’S ALREADY WORKING 🚀

We trained 20 women in Malawi, Ghana, Zambia, Morocco, Palestine and Japan to bring the GGU leadership curriculum to girls in their own communities. Online sessions, in-person trainings, and real commitment from 20 incredible women who believe girls deserve access to leadership. 💜

Each facilitator is now set to reach up to 40 girls locally. That’s not just impact, THAT’S RIPPLE EFFECT!
And the programs are already live. Our facilitators are running local leadership sessions in Malawi, Ghana and Zambia right now, bringing GGU to girls who have never had access to something like this before. ✨
One of them is Patience from Malawi, who recently brought the GGU curriculum to an all-girls secondary school. The first of many.

Swipe to see what these programs look like on the ground. 👉

A huge thank you to Deutsche Postcode Lotterie for making this possible through their generous support.

♻️ What if the things we throw away could become something new?

For World Cleanup Day, we’re looking back at a special moment from this year’s ABURY Girls Gearing Up Academy India.

During a visit to Studio Alternatives, our girls explored sustainability and discovered how creative reuse, recycling and upcycling can turn everyday waste into something useful again. 🌱

The visit was a great reminder that creating change doesn’t always require big resources or big solutions. Sometimes, it starts with simply looking at what we already have differently.

So we decided to debunk some of the biggest misconceptions about upcycling and show that you don’t need to be an expert to get started!!

Swipe through our carousel to see what we mean and maybe get inspired to give something old a second life.✨

What’s one thing you could upcycle instead of throwing away?

Do you know why GGU was at the Female Founders Contest Finale last week? 👇

Only 1 in 5 startup founders in Germany is a woman and that gap doesn’t close by itself. It closes when girls get access to entrepreneurial education, role models, and confidence early.

That’s exactly what Teen Venture Lab is for. 💜 A 10-week program with Ira Philip where teenage girls develop and pitch their own startup ideas
Lily, Luiza (TVL alumna), and some of our Year-Round Program participants represented GGU at the finale in Potsdam, where 12 female founders pitched their ideas and our partner Dr. Ira Philip sat on the jury.

Have you ever heard of a fully funded, year-long teen leadership programme? 👀

We run one every year for girls from Berlin and Brandenburg, around the ages of 13–17. 💜

Throughout the year, they get the opportunity to learn new skills through a variety of workshops, connect with inspiring women through our mentorship programme, and build lifelong friendships and connections.

The programme gives young girls the chance to broaden their career perspectives, discover their strengths, explore their purpose, and grow into future leaders. All completely FREE! ✨

This year’s cohort started their journey at the ABURY Girls Gearing Up Academy in 2025 and completed the year-long programme in June 2026. 🎓
A huge thank you to Noga Shtainder, Amy Silberzahn, Michelle Wohte, the HWR Berlin students, and everyone else who took the time to invest in and help shape the girls’ futures. 💜

What a year to remember! 🥹✨

Do you think future leaders are born or made?

The GGU India Academy has begun. 🇮🇳✨

30 girls. 7 days. One goal: to discover they are already leaders.
Yesterday our third and final Academy of 2026 kicked off at the beautiful Sangam World Centre — and the energy was everything. 💜
This week: confidence, public speaking, leadership, cultural exchange, and their very own Changemaker Action Plans. We can’t wait to share the journey.

Drop a 💜 for our India team and the 30 girls about to have the week of their lives. 👇
