Just published! 💚
Hala Eid Alnaji (2026).  The Tent as an Architecture of Survival:  Living under Precarity.
Published by the Center for Mediterranean Cultural Studies. Available with Al-Mutawassit Publications.  25th Amman International Book fair, September 24 to October 3, 2026. Stand C34.

The Tent as an Architecture of Survival: Living under Precarity — الخيمة كعمارة نجاة / العيش تحت الهشاشة — speaks of methods of survival (najāh), rescue, escape from danger which the artist connects to an emerging epistemic field: learning/knowing the conditions of fragility, vulnerability, and precarity (hashāsha) and turning them into resilience and a way of making it through.

In her new book, Hala Alnaji explores the tent as an architecture through which survival becomes possible, and continues her brilliant research on displacement, ephemeral architectures, and schools of survival.

House of Taswir was proud to show Hala Alnaji’s “Nazeh Map” in The Istanbul Pavilion of the Gaza Biennale Initiative at Depo Istanbul 2025.
A 4th edition of this work, the “Academy Edition” of Nazeh Map is currently on view at the Academy of the Arts in Berlin.

House of Taswir is holding a Table of Scholars (Tisch) with Hala Alnaji at its “Tisch University” on October 10.  Upon personal invitation.
