Mit großer Trauer nehmen wir Abschied von Robert Thurman, einem der bedeutendsten Gelehrten des tibetischen Buddhismus und einem unermüdlichen Fürsprecher des tibetischen Volkes.

Als enger Freund und langjähriger Schüler Seiner Heiligkeit des 14. Dalai Lama widmete er sein Leben dem Erhalt und der Vermittlung der tibetischen Kultur, Philosophie und spirituellen Tradition. Durch seine Lehren, Schriften und sein Engagement inspirierte er unzählige Menschen auf der ganzen Welt und trug wesentlich dazu bei, das Verständnis für Tibet und seine einzigartige spirituelle Kultur zu fördern.

Robert Thurman wird für seine Weisheit, seine Menschlichkeit und sein tiefes Mitgefühl in Erinnerung bleiben. Sein Vermächtnis lebt in den Herzen seiner Schüler, Freunde und aller weiter, die durch sein Wirken berührt wurden.

Möge er in Frieden ruhen.

༄་། བོད་ཀྱི་དེང་རབས་གཞོན་ནུ་ལྷན་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་གདོང་བསྐྱོད་དཔའ་བོ་ཞིག་ལ་ཆ་འཇོགས་ཞུས་པའི་སྐུ་ཞབས་ལྷག་བཟང་ཚེ་རིང་ལགས་འདས་གྲོངས་ཕྱིན་པར་བློ་ཕམ་དང་མྱ་ངན་གུས་འདུད་གྲངས་མེད་ཞུ། དམ་པ་ཁོང་ཚེ་རབས་ནས་ཚེ་རབས་འཕགས་པ་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་ཀྱི་གདུལ་ཞིང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བའི་སྨོན་འདུན་ཡང་ཞུ་བཞིན་ཡོད་། It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Mr. Lhasang Tsering la, a dedicated Tibetan freedom fighter, patriot, and unwavering advocate for the Tibetan cause, who passed away on 11 June 2026.

For decades, Lhasang Tsering la devoted his life to the struggle for Tibet's freedom and the preservation of Tibetan identity, culture, and dignity. His courage, conviction, and tireless commitment inspired generations of Tibetans and supporters around the world. He remained steadfast in his principles and dedicated to the aspirations of the Tibetan people throughout his life.

As we remember his remarkable contributions and sacrifices, we offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of service, determination, and love for Tibet will continue to inspire future generations.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his lifelong dedication to the Tibetan cause never be forgotten.

Lhasang Tsering la will be remembered for his lifelong commitment to the Tibetan freedom movement and his enduring contribution to the Tibetan community.

Sikyong Penpa Tsering Begins First Official Foreign Visit Following Re-election

Berlin, Germany, 11 June 2026 — Sikyong Penpa Tsering, President of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), commenced his first official foreign visit following his re-election as Sikyong.

Upon his arrival in Berlin, Sikyong Penpa Tsering was warmly received by Thinlay Chukki, Representative of the Office of Tibet; Mr. Phuntsok Topgyal, UN Advocacy Officer from the Tibet Office Geneva;
Mr. Dundup Donka, President of the Association of Tibetans in Germany; and members of the Tibetan community in Berlin.

The visit marks an important milestone in Sikyong Penpa Tsering’s renewed mandate and reflects the Central Tibetan Administration’s continued efforts to strengthen international engagement, foster relations with supporters of the Tibetan cause, and strengthen ties with Tibetan communities around the world.

ANNOUNCEMENT - His Holiness the Dalai Lama is scheduled to depart Dharamsala tomorrow for Delhi, where he will undergo medical treatment on his left knee. Following his recovery, he is to travel to Ladakh toward the end of June for an extended stay. June 4, 2026
