These shoes will soon be on their way to communities in East Cameroon through our Shoe Aid Project.

How is migration represented in the media, and how is it truly lived? We’re bridging two continents to explore the gap between the narratives told about migrants and the stories told by them.

➡️George: Sharing his findings on the lived realities and structural constraints faced by West African youth in Germany

On his travels, the artist Gerd Stritzel encountered a wide variety of people, stories and realities of life. Including those of people who cannot afford a pair of shoes.
The artwork above was inspired by this circumstance. The hand-painted shoes can be purchased and the proceeds go to our project in which we give old shoes from Germany a new life in Cameroon.
