Meet three Huni-Kuin women from the Brazilian Amazon in a unique evening full of female wisdom! Learn how to lead and live from joy, presence and connection.

This evening offers you:
Cross-cultural conversations about the role of women
Vocal exercises for activation and expression
Gentle rituals for presence, joy and connection
A live concert with Huni Kuin songs and ancient prayers

Immerse yourself in the soundscape of the Amazon. Bunke, Bismani and Rita Huni Kuin sing traditional songs of the Huni Kuin, accompanied by modern instruments.

Resistance, Art and Feminism in the Amazon: Talk and discussion with Rita Huni Kuin

The Amazon forest is facing drastic changes in its climate. Recent scientific findings suggest a tipping point is near, with devastating consequences for all life. A growing movement of young female Indigenous artists and activists is rising to defend their culture and the forest they call home. At the forefront of this movement is Rita Huni Kuin. She will share her views on how art can serve as a tool for resistance. The event will begin with an opening ceremony and sacred songs.

2024 was Living Gaia's 10th ✨anniversary.🥳🌱✨ On this special evening, we will celebrate and present the history of the association and major achievements and challenges from the forest, together with our Huni Kuin guests. And - even more importantly- offer insights on where we're standing now and where we'll be focusing our work in the upcoming years. Exciting News from Living Gaia e.V.!🥳✨

We are thrilled to announce an upcoming, incredibly special event that bridges cultures and fosters vital dialogue: a Germany tour featuring three remarkable Huni Kuin women from the Brazilian Amazon – Bunke, Bismani and Rita Huni Kuin!

From August to September, these powerful voices will be traveling across Germany, sharing their profound wisdom, ancient traditions, and urgent messages about the Amazon rainforest and indigenous rights. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from the source, understand the challenges facing the Huni Kuin people, and explore pathways for collective action towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

The Huni Kuin (also known as Kaxinawá) are guardians of immense biodiversity and cultural heritage. Their knowledge of sustainable living and their deep connection to the Earth offer invaluable insights for us all.

During their tour, Bunke, Bismeni, and Rita will engage in various activities, including: Workshops and talks, cultural exchanges and discussions. For more infos and updates check out our website living-gaia.org.
