Zu jeder vollen Stunde fällt der Schatten des Berliner Fernsehturmes auf ein bestimmtes Gebäude oder einen Platz im nahen Umfeld. Diese Orte wollen wir durch Künstler gestalten lassen, sodass das Ziffernblatt der architektonisch bereits vorhandenen Sonnenuhr für alle sichtbar wird. The Great Art Project

The Berlin television tower (Berliner Fernsehturm) along with its shadow and surrounding build

ings should function as the “largest sundial in the world.” Every full hour, the tower casts its shadow on a specific rooftop, façade, or place in its near periphery. These respective surfaces mark each hour of a clock and should be artistically styled to make the sundial visible to everyone. Each work of art will stand alone, yet also combine with the others to form one giant work of art – the clock-face of the largest sundial in the world. Ideally, this clock-face should be visible from the tower’s observation deck, from the official website, from geographic information systems like Google Earth©, and naturally from the ground. The sundial artists will be sponsored and strongly promoted by the project.
