After being informed last night about Sarah Zedeler’s condition, Tulku Ugen kept awake and was praying at home for her. In the mean time small monks had been instructed to prepare for the Puja today.

Wishing strongly Guru Rinpoche will extend her life, as Sarah still can be of inspiration for many. Lamps offering and pujah was done this morning.

Once the Puja was completed Tulku Ugen stayed alone in the Gompa and looking at all the painted deities, invoqued them in support of Sarah.

Sarah has been a major sponsor for these pieces of Religious Art painted by Bhutanese artist Kumbulah and his team. Memories of those times came back when Sarah used to call almost everyday regarding the process of the paintings, the colors to be used , etc. It was her inspiration.

When I used to go and see Chatral Rinpoche in his little temple in Jorebungalow he would sit at the front and when people offered him something he would take it and throw it over his shoulder so the back of the room was like a junk shop, it was full of a mass of crazy stuff. He didn't need it and if I tried to give 2 rupees, or some little bit of money, he would give me the money back and give me even more money because he knew what it was like to be a refugee or a poor person in a foreign country. Truly the teacher doesn't need anything from you but you have a need to get something from the teacher
