NUMOV / Nah- und Mittelost-Verein e.V., the German Near and Middle East Association, founded 88 years ago, is Germany's oldest non-profit organization for the promotion of bilateral economic relations between Germany and the Near and Middle East. Board Members include well-known enterprises such as Volkswagen AG, Bilfinger Berger SE and Deutsche Bank AG, as well as many medium- and small- sized co

mpanies. NUMOV's Honorary Chairman is Gerhard Schröder, former Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Apart from organizing seminars, conferences and delegations, the association assists in the establishment of business opportunities and contacts. Close connections to ministries, chambers of commerce and industry as well as diplomatic missions guarantee professional and up-to-date information on all aspects of Near
and Middle East trade. Regional experts offer knowledgeable individual counselling and advice on basic economic conditions, how to enter the market, on import/export and investment promotion. The association publishes a bi-monthly magazine of commercial intelligence for its members called "Wirtschaftsforum Nah- und Mittelost" besides other publications and a regular "Hotline" for up-to-date information. The German Orient-Institute (Deutsches Orient-Institut) was founded by NUMOV / the German Near and Middle East Assocition more than 50 years ago and is Europes oldest private research institute focusing on the Near and Middle East.
