🌎 Connecting Europe and Latin America for a more sustainable future!

Youth Power Germany, coordinator of the VET-EcoLume project, is attending The Sustainable Lighting Summit in Envigado, Colombia.

Over the past two days, we have explored digital learning, creativity and innovation at Universidad Uniremington, alongside discussions and collaborative activities on light pollution, sustainable lighting and biodiversity protection.

Today, we presented our project as part of Envigado’s Biodiversity Week, sharing what we have achieved together as we approach the final phase of the project. It was an opportunity to highlight how vocational education and international cooperation can support more sustainable lighting practices and protect our ecosystems.

The overall aim is to empower young people to use art as a tool to understand, question, and improve inclusion in their societies. More specifically, participants will explore their own identities and perspectives and how these shape the way they see others; experiment with a range of artistic methods and strengthen intercultural dialogue, empathy, and cooperation in a diverse group; create collective artworks that share their vision of inclusive societies with the wider public and leave with concrete ideas for using art in their own communities.

Our Youth Exchange “In Motion, In Mind” has come to an end and we couldn’t be prouder of this group!

For an entire week, participants came together to explore tools and practices that can support their well-being. Along the way, we built friendships, strengthened empathy and shared movement, reflection, creativity, laughter, fun and commitment.

To conclude this beautiful journey, the group created an immersive exhibition on well-being. Through their creativity and sensitivity, they showed us that well-being can begin right on our doorstep, in the small moments when we pause, reconnect with ourselves and allow ourselves to create.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Create. 🌿🎨💃

Because what truly matters is the process: everything we discovered, expressed and built together. This is an experience we will carry with us for a long time.

We have successfully completed our Training Course “Digi-Hack: A Journey Through Digital Competence” in Barcelona!

Throughout the training, our participants explored the DigComp 3.0 framework and strengthened their understanding of information search and evaluation, digital communication and collaboration, content creation, online safety, responsible technology use and problem-solving.

Through non-formal education, practical workshops, international exchange and teamwork, they reflected on digital realities in their countries and discovered new methods for supporting young people in navigating the digital world critically, safely and confidently.

The journey concluded with a collaborative hackathon, where participants identified real digital challenges and developed creative, human-centred solutions that can be adapted to their local youth work.

Our goals were successfully achieved, and the participants returned home with deeper knowledge, practical tools, new perspectives and the motivation to transform what they learned into meaningful local action.

Thank you to everyone who brought curiosity, creativity and commitment to this learning journey!

Our inspiring and creative Youth Exchange “In Motion, In Mind: A Creative Well-Being Lab” has officially started in Barcelona!

Over the coming days, participants will explore the connection between body, emotions and well-being through creative movement, improvisation, painting, observation and reflection.

By working in different environments, from indoor spaces to parks and urban surroundings, they will discover how movement and the places around us can influence our mood, attention and self-awareness.

Our participants are already moving, creating and sharing, expressing themselves, learning from one another and building meaningful intercultural connections.

Together, we are creating a safe space for creativity, emotional expression and well-being.

Let the journey begin!

Moving Beyond Tokenism towards genuine youth participation!

As part of our Beyond Tokenism: Youth Leading Inclusion project, we implemented our dissemination activity, presenting the final project results and exploring the practical tools developed to help youth workers, organisations and young people recognise tokenism and strengthen meaningful participation.

During the activity, we showcased resources such as the Participation Simulator, Inclusion Index Calculator, Inclusion Toolkit, and eLearning Course — tools designed to encourage reflection, identify power imbalances and support organisations in creating spaces where young people have a real voice and influence.

Because inclusion should be more than representation. Young people should not only be present — they should be heard, involved and empowered to shape decisions.

We have officially concluded our CIRCFOOD Transnational Training for Youth Workers! ♻️

After an inspiring learning journey in Berlin, we are happy to say that the training reached its main objectives: strengthening our understanding of sustainability, circular economy, food waste prevention, sustainable consumption, zero-waste approaches, community-based solutions and non-formal education methods.

Throughout the training, participants explored real-life challenges, exchanged practices from their countries, worked with practical tools, designed educational activities and tested them through simulations and peer feedback.

What made this experience especially valuable was seeing how learning can move from ideas into action. Now, we cannot wait to see these tools and approaches being implemented in our local communities and adapted to the realities of young people, youth organisations and educators.

Because raising awareness about food waste is only the beginning. The next step is to share the knowledge, question our habits, inspire others and create small changes that can grow into wider community action. 💚

Thank you to everyone who contributed with energy, curiosity, ideas and commitment during these days. Now the real impact starts at local level!

🌱 This week, we started our Training of Trainers within the CIRCFOOD project! ♻️🍎

Together with youth workers from across the partner countries, we will explore how non-formal education can help young people better understand food waste, sustainability and the circular economy.

The training follows our newly developed CIRCFOOD Toolkit for Youth Workers – “Green Skills in Action”, created within the project Circular Food Economy: Reducing Waste and Carbon Footprint.
The toolkit provides practical, interactive workshops for youth workers, educators and facilitators.

Throughout the training, we will put these activities into practice through discussion, teamwork, simulations, creative problem-solving, design thinking and reflection — learning by doing rather than simply talking about sustainability.

Our goal? To give youth workers practical tools they can take back to their communities and use to inspire more sustainable choices and action around food. 💚
