🏳🌈 Quarteera took part in 2026 in Berlin, staging a performance-based experiment in our tent
Festival-goers were able to experience what emigration feels like for a person, depending on their country of origin. For some, moving is easy — they don’t have to worry about visas or fill in piles of paperwork to stay; the language is already familiar and understandable. Others, however, are fleeing wars, repressive laws and criminal persecution; for them, emigration is not a choice but a necessity.
Often, the images on social media make it seem as though emigration is easy and straightforward. But real life is far more complicated. Come along to our events and visit our spaces to find your community and support.
