This month, two “Neighbors’ Dinners” took place at the Couto and Chaligny residences, bringing residents together for warm and joyful shared moments. 🌍🍲

Families prepared delicious dishes enjoyed by children and adults alike, creating space to meet, connect, and strengthen community ties. 💛

Through simple moments of togetherness, new friendships and a deeper sense of belonging continue to grow. 🌱

Celebrating stories that carry home, memory, and identity. ✨📚

This month, we’re highlighting a selection of beautiful children’s books that explore belonging, culture, and love through Palestinian voices and stories:

📖 Mariam’s Dream – Leila Boukarim
📖 Homeland: My Father’s Dream of Palestine – Hannah Moushabeck
📖 Lana Makes Purple Pizza – Amanda Najib
📖 We Are Palestinian – Reem Kassis
📖 Eleven Words for Love – Randa Abdel-Fattah
📖 My Olive Tree – Hazar Elbayya

Through these stories, young readers are invited to discover themes of heritage, family, resilience, and imagination — reminding us how books can nurture connection and understanding from an early age.

From the 23rd to the 26th of february, the residents of the Couto and Chaligny centres at Residsocial explored the art of sound and recording with the amazing author and playwright . 🎙️

From listening closely to their surroundings to recording voices and shared moments, participants discovered new ways to tell stories through sound — transforming everyday experiences into powerful narratives. ✨

Because every voice carries a story worth hearing. 💫

In February and March, we hosted a beautiful series of audio and video storytelling workshops at the accommodation centre in Berlin-Britz.

With Taha, participants crafted their own mini-podcasts — brainstorming ideas, recording their stories, and experimenting with sound. 🎙️✨

Hana, Amir, and Carina from Rawy Films then opened the door to visual storytelling, introducing the group to cameras and encouraging playful, hands-on exploration. 🎥💫

From sound to image, each session created space for young people to express themselves, connect, and discover new creative tools.

✨Thank you for making the opening of the exhibition Our Stories, Our Power so special ✨

Last month, we had the immense pleasure of opening the long-awaited exhibition Our Stories, Our Power and hosting a panel discussion on Libraries as Infrastructure for Care and Expression. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped create such a powerful and meaningful moment for the talented girls and the wider community. Your presence, care, and conversations transformed the exhibition into a shared space of listening, connection, and celebration.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Centre de Sauvegarde Abdesslam Bennani, the , our amazing curators and ilias, our inspiring guests , , the creative Khadija, the director of the exhibition’s documentary .lahib , the organizing team, and above all, the talented and creative girls from the center, who created the artworks and shared their stories, power, and courage with us.

Thank you for standing with these voices 💚

📚✨ Narratives of Hope has officially begun! ✨📚

We are expanding to ITALY through a partnership with ! This new project is allowing us to create an inclusive and multilingual library inside the CIAO community centre, and to offer migrant children and youth a variety of creative storytelling workshops where they can share and express themselves in many different ways. 💭📝

💡🤝 Over the past weeks, the team over there involved several teens in choosing the books they would like to find in their “wish library”, and through a few questions they explored their relationship with reading. This preliminary step will help us shape the upcoming workshops and activities for the year. Library incoming in the coming weeks!!

✨📚 This will be the very first Lilipad library in Italy but hopefully not the last. It marks in important step for us in better understanding the migration journey and challenges of children and family at a place like Sicily, often an arrival point for many.

🌍 This project is funded by the EU Commission’s Erasmus+ program.
