Beim Panel „Decolonize the Digital: From Connectivity to Collective Solidarity“ haben wir diskutiert, wie digitale Infrastruktur gerechter, demokratischer & gemeinschaftlicher gestaltet werden kann.

🧑🏾‍💻Im Mittelpunkt: der neue Digital Hub im Berlin Global Village – ein Ort für digitale Infrastruktur, Wissensaustausch und neue Formen der Zusammenarbeit, orientiert an den Bedürfnissen der Zivilgesellschaft.

🤝🏾 Die Diskussion machte deutlich: Digitale Transformation ist nicht nur ein technisches Thema. Sie betrifft Machtverhältnisse, Teilhabe und die Frage, wer digitale Angebote entwickelt, besitzt und gestaltet.

At the panel “Decolonize the Digital: From Connectivity to Collective Solidarity”, we discussed how digital infrastructure can be made more just, democratic, and community-driven.

🧑🏾‍💻 At the heart of the conversation: the Digital Hub at Berlin Global Village – a space for shared digital infrastructure, knowledge exchange, and new forms of collaboration – guided by the needs of civil society.

🤝🏾 The discussion made one thing clear: Digital transformation is not just a technical issue. It is about power structures, participation, and the question of who develops, owns, and shapes digital solutions.

(EN below) 🖼️ Vernissage: Gathering Otherwise

Pünktlich zur Erdzeremonie am EarthNest wird am 28. Mai 2026 die Gruppenausstellung Gathering Otherwise – Diasporische Verbindungen eröffnet.

🤎 Im Mittelpunkt steht die Auseinandersetzung mit diasporischen Identitäten – also Lebensrealitäten, die durch Migration und vielfältige kulturelle Einflüsse geprägt sind. Diese Identitäten sind selten eindeutig oder festgelegt.

✨ Die Ausstellung bringt Arbeiten von Soukaina El Adak, Martha Díaz Adam, Juan Camilo Alfonso und Ọládayọ̀ Thomas zusammen. Die Künstler*innen nähern sich dem Thema auf unterschiedliche Weise – durch Fotografie, Malerei und Textilarbeiten. Sie eröffnen einen Raum, um über eigene Verortungen, Zugehörigkeiten und Brüche nachzudenken.

Vernissage im Rahmen der Erdzeremonie:

🖼️ Vernissage: Gathering Otherwise
Timed with the Earth Ceremony at the EarthNest, the group exhibition Gathering Otherwise – Diasporic Connections opens on May 28, 2026.

🤎 At the heart of the exhibition is an exploration of diasporic identities — lived realities shaped by migration and a wide range of cultural influences. These identities are rarely clear-cut or fixed.

✨ The exhibition brings together works by Soukaina El Adak, Martha Díaz Adam, Juan Camilo Alfonso, and Ọládayọ̀ Thomas. Through photography, painting, and textile works, the five artists approach the theme in different ways. They open up a space to reflect on one’s own sense of place, belonging, and rupture.

Im Zentrum der Erdzeremonie am EarthNest am 28.05.2026 steht die Zeremonie mit , Mnyaka Sururu Mboro & . Sie sprechen über die Erde aus Madagaskar, Tansania & Namibia, die sie für das EarthNest mitgebracht haben – über Herkunft, Geschichten und politische wie persönliche Bezüge. Anschließend werden die Erden in die Tonkrüge des Dekolonialen Denkzeichens eingebracht. Die Erdzeremonie ist ein wiederkehrendes Ritual, das das EarthNest lebendig hält.

✨ EARTH CEREMONY – ADDING SOILS
At the heart of the Earth Ceremony on May 28, 2026 is a ceremony with MFA Kera, Mnyaka Sururu Mboro & Israel Kaunatjike. They will speak about the soil they brought from Madagascar, Tanzania & Namibia – its stories, origins, and political and personal meanings. Afterwards, the soils will be placed into the clay vessels of the Decolonial Memorial. The Earth Ceremony is a recurring ritual that keeps the EarthNest alive.
