At the beginning of last week in Berlin, the board members of the WIDU project, initiated by GIZ and sponsored by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, met. The WIDU project currently supports small and medium-sized business creators in 6 African countries by providing financial resources and advice in conjunction with the diaspora. The aim is to create and to facilitate jobs creation and sustainable businesses in the informal sector / with small and very small businesses in Africa. The Feedback from the first evaluation is encouraging, but requires much more support from local governments and financial partners. We've also talked about getting the Diaspora much more involved, and to this end we'll be making the next African Entrepreneurs' Night in collaboration with major players in September in Hamburg a major event. The program will follow soon. Thank you to all those from the Diaspora whom we have met and who have already indicated their support and participation. Clément Klutse
