🍝 Join us this Friday for the 20th Anniversary of the Lange Tafel (“Long Table”) in Berlin!

What began in 2006 as a public theatre and dialogue project has evolved into a unique space where art, storytelling, civic participation, and communal dining come together.

What makes the Lange Tafel so special?
There is no separation between audience and performers — everyone becomes part of the interactive people’s theatre. Around one long table, people from different backgrounds come together as equals to share food, stories, and perspectives.

From Berlin to Los Angeles, Mashhad, Pune, Borneo, and Bobo Dioulasso, Long Tables have become powerful symbols of dialogue, inclusion, and democratic participation.

This year’s theme asks a timely question:
✨ “Democracy — do we need it? And if so, why?”

The Global Shapers Berlin Hub will also host a table — and we would love for you to join the conversation.

We just launched the Health AI Forum — and hosted our first event at the DELTA startup campus.
AI in healthcare is moving fast.
But the real question isn’t only what it can do — it’s how we ensure it remains transparent, equitable, and grounded in patient and public interest.
That’s exactly what we set out to build:
A space where perspectives don’t sit in silos — but meet at the same table.
We brought together voices from:
🥼 Clinical practice
📚 Regulation
🚀 Health tech innovation
🏛️ Policy & governance
We started with roundtables followed by a fishbowl discussion.
This is just the beginning.
More conversations to come.
More space for voices that are too often left at the margins.
We’d love to have you with us next time.

Rebellions start, because courageous people stand up to challenge the status quo – to build a better tomorrow.

👉Day 1 Recap of Rebellion: Building Tomorrow 🚀

To kick off our first day, welcoming 130+ Global Shapers from the SWAG region 🇩🇪🇨🇭🇦🇹 and some special guests from 🇹🇭🇺🇸🇱🇺🇵🇱🇬🇧, we kick started the weekend at KiezLab Berlin, a community space for Non Profit Organizations in the heart of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.

Each participant got handed a bag, designed by our talented Marc-Anthony Bauer, that hand drew snippets of Berlin.

Our amazing Key Note Speaker, Aileen Puhlmann from Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation kicked offed the retreat, sharing the amazing work that the foundation does.

𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒔; who has great ideas, and who gets to implement them? What do power dynamics have to do with them and what does impact actually mean?

Aileen shared the journey of Lemonaid & ChariTea and how she herself has dedicated her life to serve boards of various foundations and initiatives.

Following this thought-provoking input, we moved to KALLE HALLE in the heart of Neukölln to enjoy the different tastes that Berlin has to offer.

[Day in Marzahn] Community Beyond the Plattenbau

How often do you explore Berlin beyond the Ringbahn? Come join us on March 21, when Global Shapers explores Marzahn for a day. Most Berliners have never set foot in the district and only know it for its concrete building blocs and AfD voters. We want to take you beyond this facade, meet local communities and make lasting connections.

We start at 11 am for a guided walking tour with historian Nathaniel Flakin to explore Germany’s biggest planned community and uncover its stories. After lunch, we invite you to an interactive workshop on fake news and how we can resist them. Let’s break out of the bubble together!

The walking tour will be in English and the workshop in German.

Sports are limited, sign up via the link here or in the bio by March 15: https://forms.gle/fNtnGgWS7Cs4KweH9

\Join us to learn how to be an active bystander/

This International Women’s Day, we’re hosting a workshop to empower individuals to become active bystanders. Conversations around sexual harassment often focus on the perpetrator and the victim — but there is almost always a third party present, and that person could be you.

That’s why this workshop is designed to equip more people with the confidence and practical tools to intervene safely and effectively.

We will be using materials code signed by for this workshop in Berlin.
