Yesterday we closed the 5th edition of our Open Air Cinema! In this edition we focused on Outsiders in the Jewish and Israeli context and also paid tribute to Sapir Film School in Sderot, Israel. We are thankful to our audience, the volunteers, Mobile Kino , Szloma-Albam-Stiftung, Bezirksamt Friedrichshain Kreuzberg, Dekel Peretz, Nina Peretz.

Thank you for being with us at the opening of the 2025 edition of the open air cinema at the Fraenkelufer Synagogue! More than 100 wonderful people have created a great atmosphere and proved that Jewish Culture in Berlin is alive and kicking! Join us next Tuesday 26.8 for the screening of the film: Outsider. Freud. It is a rare opportunity to watch this award-winning documentary in the presence of the acclaimed filmmaker Yair Qedar

Starting this coming Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the fifth annual Open-Air Cinema series will kick off in the garden of the Fraenkelufer Synagogue. After each screening, there will be discussions with experts and filmmakers.

This year's series is dedicated to the theme of "Outsiders" in Jewish cinema. There will also be a special tribute to the Sapir College Film Department in Sderot, with a short film from the college shown before each feature.
All films will have English subtitles.

Here's the screening schedule:

August 19, 2025: The new Hungarian film, All About The Levkovitches.

August 26, 2025: Yair Qedar's fascinating new film: Outsider. Freud. Yair will be at the screening to answer questions afterward.

September 2, 2025: The great French film: A Good Jewish Boy.

Admission is free (please bring a valid ID for a security check). Popcorn and drinks will be available.

Doors open at 8:00 PM, and screenings begin at 8:30 PM. (On 19.8 doors open at 19:30).

Das Freiluftkino am Fraenkelufer ist zurück!
Wir begrüßen euch zu unserem fünften jährlichen Freiluftkino im Garten der Synagoge Fraenkelufer! Wir freuen uns, den Synagogen Garten wieder für die Nachbarschaft zu öffnen und alle zu einer besonderen Filmerfahrung einzuladen.
Ab dem 19. August laden wir euch herzlich an drei Dienstagabenden zu inspirierenden Filmen und spannenden Diskussionen bei Popcorn und Getränken im Kreuzberger Synagogengarten ein.
Unser Oberthema dieses Jahr lautet Außenseiter.
Der Eintritt zu allen Vorführungen ist frei. Wir freuen uns über Spenden zur Unterstützung unserer Arbeit. Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich.
Bitte bringt ein Ausweisdokument für die Sicherheitskontrolle mit.

The open-air cinema at Fraenkelufer is back!
We welcome you to our fifth annual open-air cinema in the garden of the Fraenkelufer Synagogue! We are pleased to reopen the synagogue garden to the community and invite everyone to a special film experience.
Starting August 19th, we cordially invite you to three Tuesday evenings in the Kreuzberg synagogue garden for inspiring films and exciting discussions with popcorn and drinks.
Our overarching theme this year is outsiders.
Admission to all screenings is free. We welcome donations to support our work. Registration is not required.
