Starting this coming Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the fifth annual Open-Air Cinema series will kick off in the garden of the Fraenkelufer Synagogue. After each screening, there will be discussions with experts and filmmakers.
This year's series is dedicated to the theme of "Outsiders" in Jewish cinema. There will also be a special tribute to the Sapir College Film Department in Sderot, with a short film from the college shown before each feature.
All films will have English subtitles.
Here's the screening schedule:
August 19, 2025: The new Hungarian film, All About The Levkovitches.
August 26, 2025: Yair Qedar's fascinating new film: Outsider. Freud. Yair will be at the screening to answer questions afterward.
September 2, 2025: The great French film: A Good Jewish Boy.
Admission is free (please bring a valid ID for a security check). Popcorn and drinks will be available.
Doors open at 8:00 PM, and screenings begin at 8:30 PM. (On 19.8 doors open at 19:30).
