🧐What will stay after 3,5 years of Civic Europe?

🙌We are grateful that this time allowed us to support:
▪️ more than 100 local organizations and teams,
▪️ around 200 directly reached beneficiaries with learning events,
▪️ and approx. 40.000 indirectly reached people through local projects.

We worked as intermediaries between our donor Stiftung Mercator and our local winners. Even though we could not avoid the donor-role, we always strived towards a more eye-level, partnership-like relationship, where it is possible to talk to grow together through human connections and personal exchange. 💗

🏃Unbelievable how time flies! Our Bulgarian capacity building program started in autumn 2019. Now we are in 2023: 3,5 years later, and we are closing the Civic Europe program.

I hasn't been easy times. Starting with two years of pandemic in 2020 and 2021, continuing with the aggressive invasion of Ukraine in 2022, not even talking about climate change taking up speed. Our world seems to change quicker than ever, and we struggle to keep up the pace.

People striving for social change, a more just and peaceful world and an active civil society are more needed now than ever. That is why we are incredibly grateful to have worked with people and teams striving for this change in their local communities. You inspired and motivated us to continue our work, thank you. 🫶

🙌The aim of the publication is to support youth workers, trainers, facilitators, teachers, and other professionals in the field of citizenship education in navigating crises and transformations. As such, this collection of practitioners' voices comes at the right time – when the outbreak of a full-scale war in Europe and multiple crises (inflation, migration, climate change) put our way of life, choices, and practices under heavy scrutiny.

🤝The publication results from the cooperation of nearly 25 people from Ukraine, Moldova, Germany, Poland, and Romania, including 10 Authors: Christa Cocciole, Marta Dagargulia, Aina Idrisova, Oana Laslău, Rebekka Pfennig, Jolanta Steciuk, Nataliya Trambovetska, Maria Tymoshchuk, Sebastian Wehrsig, and Bětka Wójcik. Dr. Maja Nenadović supervised the ​​publication.

👉Community Alphabet is an international peer learning program for community practitioners and/or local leaders focused on inclusive community building. The program is intended for community practitioners and leaders who are interested in connecting diverse groups of residents and learning and reflecting on their work with peers from other European countries.

❓ Do you have an innovative approach to societal challenges of our present and future?

👉Then this call might be interesting to you: The Creative Impact Research Centre Europe offers funds for practicioners of the cultural and creative industries with creative innovative approaches to solve current societal challenges.

In total, the Creative Impact Fund will fund 13 entrepreneurial innovation projects, including five projects whose solution approaches are field-tested and ready for the next development step, and eight project ideas that aim to achieve a proof of concept of their own project.
