Applications are now open for our 2026 international exchange to Berlin in partnership with and

Exciting opportunity for 8 young people to take part in this exchange to Berlin.

To be able to apply to must be between the ages of 16-19. You must also be available between the 17th - 26th July and 24th October - 1st November.

Applications are open until 5pm on Friday 22nd May 2026.

This week, we had the chance to be part of something genuinely inspiring.

Over five days, we came together with youth work providers from across the world, sharing ideas, challenges, and experiences.

What stood out most was how aligned we all are. No matter where we’re from, we’re all working towards the same goal — creating meaningful opportunities for children and young people and strengthening the impact of youth work globally.

We spent time shaping a shared vision for international youth work, digging into what really matters and identifying the core components that make it effective, inclusive, and sustainable.

Grateful to have been part of this exchange and excited to see how these ideas grow into action and watching new partnerships develop.

Young people from Holywood Youth Centre & Crumlin Youth Project spent 7 days in Berlin hosted by our partners Schreberjugend.

Young people explored the city, delved into the past, took part in educational workshops, experienced a new culture all while building relationships with people from opposite communities in Northern Ireland.

This was a fantastic opportunity to tear down barriers and build unity between communities rather than division.

Thanks to CADI for supporting young people and upskilling the young people to document this journey themselves. A video will be released soon.

🌍 Northern Ireland Residential | Part 1 ✨

What happens when young people from Holywood Youth Centre, Crumlin Youth Project, and Scherberjugend Berlin come together for a week of connection, culture, and challenge? Magic. 🙌

In just 7 days, barriers broke down, friendships formed, and powerful conversations took place — all with a shared goal of understanding difference and building peace through relationships and connection. 💬🤝

Here’s a look at what went down:
📍 Day 1 – Getting to know you: Ice breakers, name games & setting the vibe 🎯
📍 Day 2 – Culture sharing, scavenger hunts & team games 🔍🌍
📍 Day 3 – Leadership in action: Creative workshops, hands-on activities & team building 💡🎨
📍 Day 4 – Diving into personal reflection, more adventuring, and a coastal escape to Portrush 🌊🧭

Some pics over the last few days hosting an international exchange with EA and Schreberjugend.

Young people took part in various activities / trips such as Orienteering, climbing wall, Derry, Campfire, giants causeway and some time at the beach.

Great day Coasteering at the North Coast today with Schreberjugend Berlin and EA Youth Service Crumlin Youth Centre.

Now time to rest after a busy day and then heading to the campfire later.
