NEST is an umbrella organisation for promotion and ex*****on of transnational mobility. We aim on sharing best practices in the field.

Get in touch with us to discover more about our projects and all the opportunities you can take part to! NGO NEST Berlin has born in 2016 with the aim of working in the educational field. For instance Non-formal learning activities are frequently based on private initiatives by non governmental organisations (NGOs).

🎬 NEST is happy to share that we took part in Q***r Action Week 2026, organised by AWO Kreisverband Berlin Spree-Wuhle e. V. in Berlin-Kreuzberg, with a special Q***r Animation Workshop on Saturday, 3 October.

🌈 The workshop was organised within the framework of the AMIF project, an AMIF Action Grant funded by the European Union through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, and formed part of NEST’s ongoing work to support the inclusion and participation of LGBTQI+ migrants and refugees in Berlin.

🎨 In collaboration with the community centre and Daniel Sterlin-Altman, a Canadian interdisciplinary filmmaker based in Berlin and lecturer at Kunsthochschule Weißensee, participants explored animation and storytelling as creative tools to reflect on q***r identity, community and lived experiences.

🎞️ Through stop-motion animation, storytelling and storyboarding, the workshop offered a space for people of different ages and backgrounds to connect, exchange perspectives and work together on a collective film.

🤝 The workshop also formed part of our ongoing Rainbow Buddies Scheme, a volunteering programme supporting and allying with LGBTQI+ migrants and refugees in Berlin through opportunities for connection, mutual support and community participation.

🏳️‍🌈 Creative spaces like this can help bring people together, make diverse experiences visible and strengthen a sense of belonging within our local communities.

The project “PROmoting Coding careers for adults with ASD ’’ (PROC-ASD) is an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership project in adult education funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
This project focuses on improving the inclusion of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in coding education and ICT careers. 💻👾

PROC-ASD involves partners from 5 different European countries, respectively Greece🇬🇷, Spain🇪🇸, Cyprus🇨🇾, Romania🇷🇴and Germany🇩🇪.

In the last week, we started together with our partners to develop an online course on coding and IT skills, designed for adult learners with ASD as well as IT trainers. By bringing both groups together, the course aims to offer an educational programme that supports inclusive education in IT and coding.

Our project aims at giving autistic adults accessible pathways into programming, while equipping trainers with the knowledge and tools to teach in a way that works for everyone! 🧑‍💻👩‍💻👨‍💻

🏳️‍🌈🇩🇪 Berlin, we're getting started! 🇩🇪🏳️‍🌈

This week, as part of our project targeting LGBTQ migrants and refugees, we kicked off our Local Working Group in Berlin to strengthen support and integration for LGBTQI migrants and refugees at a local level.

🇪🇺 The project is funded by the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). 🇪🇺

Co-hosted with ouVillage Berlinage Berlin, the group brings together local authorities, migrant and LGBTQI organisations around the same table.

📌 The idea is simple. Over a limited period of time, the group focused on which measures can really improve the situation of LGBTQI+ refugees at the Berlin scale, develop new ones or adapt existing ones to what's happening right now.

Over the coming months, we'll meet several more times until the end of the year to identify current gaps and needs, and to turn them into collaborative action. 📝

💻 Why do ICT & Coding Skills Matter?
Digital skills can open new pathways to learning, independence, and future employment opportunities. But effective training starts with understanding the real needs of autistic people and the demands of today’s labour market.

Through PROC-ASD, partners have gathered insights through surveys, focus groups, research, and the exchange of good practices across Europe. This knowledge is now helping us move from research to action, shaping more accessible and responsive ICT and coding training.

Our goal is to transform what we have learned into practical learning opportunities that support autistic adults in developing digital competences, building confidence, and preparing for the world of work.

ICSE 2026 is coming to Thessaloniki.

On 22–23 October, the International Conference on Sports and Education will take place at the International Hellenic University, bringing together researchers, educators, practitioners, students and organisations from different countries and professional backgrounds.

Across two conference days, participants will exchange research, practical experience and new perspectives on:

Last week, various partners gathered in Copenhagen as part of the EU Diversity Voices project. 🇩🇰

The conference focused on recognising, responding to, and reporting hate speech, both online and offline. 💬 Participants were able to collaborate on building practical tools for countering hate speech and discrimination. This included discussing cultural dialogues surrounding hate speech, addressing root causes, and examining what long-term and productive solutions could look like.

Because of the amazing collaboration and conversation that took place, partners will be able to take these conversations with them to continue to make Europe a safe and inclusive place. 💜
