Today is World Quantum Day! ✨
Quantum technologies are becoming increasingly important in our daily lives, so it is crucial for schools to teach these future-oriented topics in an accessible way from an early stage.
That is exactly why Science on Stage is releasing the free teaching materials “Quantum Computing in STEM Education” in June—developed by teachers for teachers. 🚀
We cordially invite you to the launch event for the materials on June 19 in Berlin. There, we will demonstrate how quantum concepts can be integrated into STEM classes in a practical, understandable, and engaging way. So join us—together, we will make quantum knowledge tangible for students. 💡

Today we’d like to introduce you to two experiments from the newly released teaching materials 🍋'Citrus Science - Experiments using Oranges and Lemons'. 🍊 The material presents a collection of ideas and activities using citrus fruits. The experiments in the booklet cover a wide range of topics in physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology, suitable for different age groups and levels of learning. As always, the material is free to use. You can find the booklet on our website: https://www.science-on-stage.eu/material/citrus-science

is quickly becoming a key topic in education – but how can we help students understand what’s behind it, and motivate them to build AI skills? 🤖📗
On the 10th of March, Science on Stage Germany invited teachers to explore these questions together in a webinar. Speakers Cláudia Meirinhos and Liliana Fernandes shared hands-on classroom ideas, beginner-friendly tools, and ready-to-use resources from the "AI in STEM Education".

The “Engineering for our Life” project, organized by Science on Stage Germany, officially kicked off! 🚀

After initially meeting online, 22 STEM teachers from 15 countries – spanning primary to secondary education – came together at GEA in Düsseldorf from March 27–29.

The kickoff highlight was a visit to the GEA’s Pharma Technology Center in Elsdorf, where participants gained fascinating insights into industrial-scale freeze-drying and the daily work of engineers. A big thank you to the team for the inspiring tour! 🙌

Back at the GEA headquarters, it was time to get hands-on:
👉 How can we integrate engineering thinking into the classroom?

During an intensive workshop phase, four key focus areas emerged, for which teaching materials are now being developed:
💧 Safe Water
🏠 Smart Living
🌾 Food & Agriculture
🧪 Suitable Materials

The cornerstone has been laid – and we’re excited to see what comes next! 🌍✨

A big thank you to the GEA Foundation, the charitable organisation of GEA Group, for supporting this project ❤️

This Monday is another 'Material Monday' and we would like to share an Easter 🐰 experiment for young students with you: Why do we Need Packaging? explores how natural materials like feathers, leaves or grass can protect a fragile object—just like real packaging does. It’s a simple, practical way to open conversations about plastic waste and show how nature can inspire smarter solutions. You can find it here: https://www.science-on-stage.eu/material/why-do-we-need-packaging
