Deze week hadden we een gezellige groep studenten Ruimtelijke Vormgeving & Signmaking van De Rooi Pannen op bezoek. Naast ons historische en culturele programma was er ook ruimte om zelf aan de slag te gaan met iets typisch Berlijns: graffiti.

En daar hoefden we ze niet lang voor warm te maken. Tijdens de workshop door Niels Popkema stonden ze binnen no-time te sp***en, vol enthousiasme en duidelijk in hun element. De creativiteit spatte er gewoon vanaf 🎨

Vervolgens zagen de studenten tijdens een interactieve wandeling door Kreuzberg hoe de echte professionals het doen. Een route langs indrukwekkende straatkunstwerken, stickers, posters en tags liet hen zien hoe Berlijners op een visuele manier hun mening uiten.

Veel dank aan alle studenten voor hun spontaniteit, openheid en een hele gezellige week!

This week we welcomed a lovely group of Design students from De Rooi Pannen. Alongside our historical and cultural programme, there was also room to get creative with something typically Berlin: graffiti.

And it didn't take much to get them going. During the workshop led by Niels Popkema, they were spray-painting within no time, full of enthusiasm and clearly in their element. The creativity was flowing 🎨

Afterwards, on an interactive walk through Kreuzberg, the students saw how the professionals do it. A route past impressive street art, stickers, posters and tags showed them how Berliners visually express their opinions.

Big thanks to all the students for their spontaneity, openness and a really fun week!

🇩🇪✨ Het nieuwe schooljaar is weer begonnen in Berlijn! ✨🇩🇪

We trapten het nieuwe schooljaar af met een leuke en vooral gezellige mix van opleidingen van Gilde Opleidingen: Leidinggevende, Junior Accountmanagement en Ondernemer. Dit keer onder begeleiding van Niels, en ze begonnen vol energie aan hun Berlijn-avontuur! 🙌

De dag startte met een Duits lesje waarnaar de groep de stad in dook en de City Clash kon beginnen! 🏙️🔥

De groep deed ontzettend enthousiast mee en bracht tijdens de opdrachten veel eigen ideeën, ervaringen en persoonlijke inbreng mee. Dat maakte de City Clash extra leuk én waardevol. Bij iedere stop werd aandachtig geluisterd en ontstonden er interessante gesprekken en mooie discussies. Het was tof om te zien hoe de leerlingen niet alleen meededen met de opdrachten, maar ook echt met elkaar in gesprek gingen en nieuwe inzichten opdeden.

Voor onze stagiaire Sacha was dit bovendien zijn allereerste City Clash. Een eerste keer om met een heel positief gevoel op terug te kijken! 💪😊 De energie, nieuwsgierigheid en betrokkenheid van de groep maakten het een superleuke start van deze twee weken in Berlijn.

Dankjewel aan alle leerlingen van Gilde International voor jullie enthousiasme en gezelligheid! 🙌

🇩🇪✨ The new school year has officially started in Berlin! ✨🇩🇪
We kicked off the new school year with a fun and diverse group of students from Gilde Opleidingen, studying Management, Junior Account Management and Entrepreneurship. This time, it was Niels’ group, and they were ready to start their Berlin adventure! 🙌

The day started with a German lesson. Afterwards it was time to split up and take on the City Clash! 🏙️🔥

The group was incredibly enthusiastic and participated really well throughout the day. They also brought a lot of their own ideas, experiences and personal perspectives to the activities, which made the City Clash even more engaging and meaningful.
At every stop, the students listened attentively, asked questions and got involved in interesting conversations. Some great discussions came up, and it was wonderful to see the students thinking critically, sharing their opinions and learning from each other along the way.

For our intern Sacha, this was also his very first City Clash, and he went home with a very positive feeling! 💪😊 The enthusiasm, curiosity and energy of the group made it a fantastic way to start these two weeks in Berlin.

A big thank you to all the students from Gilde Opleidingen for your enthusiasm and positive energy! 🙌

📅 De planning voor schooljaar 2026–2027 is in volle gang!

Ook dit schooljaar mogen we bij Clash! Exchange & Learning weer meer groepen in Berlijn verwelkomen dan vorig jaar. Inmiddels staan er al 73 groepen gepland! 🇩🇪🎉

Dat betekent heel veel leerlingen en studenten die Berlijn op een andere manier gaan ontdekken: niet alleen als stad, maar als plek om te leren over geschiedenis, diversiteit, samenleving en politiek . En natuurlijk om samen nieuwe ervaringen op te doen. 🌍

Wil je dit schooljaar ook met jouw schoolklas naar Berlijn komen? Niet getreurd: er zijn nog plekken beschikbaar!

We hebben momenteel nog mogelijkheden in december 2026, januari, februari, maart en juni 2027.

🎬 KICK-OFF: KOGAI – Across Europe: Stories of a New Generation 🌍✨

Cameras are rolling! 🎥

Welcome to the beginning of an experiment — an international exchange of not one, not two, but three (!) weeks. 15 young adults from Serbia, France and Germany will travel through Paris, Roubaix, Berlin, Budapest and Novi Sad 🚆🌍

Why?

To explore the stories that aren’t depicted on the postcards 📸🏙️

Along the way, they’ll learn how to investigate, use the camera and conduct interviews — giving us a chance to see the places we call “Europe” through THEIR perspectives 🎤🎬👀

The whole process is being filmed by Waël Sghaier, filmmaker and director of the 2023 documentary Banlie.ue, which explores popular suburbs across Europe 🎞️

Welkom bij het begin van een experiment — een internationale uitwisseling van maar liefst drie (!) weken. 15 jongeren uit Servië, Frankrijk en Duitsland reizen door Parijs, Roubaix, Berlijn, Boedapest en Novi Sad 🚆🌍

Waarom?

Om verhalen te ontdekken die je niet op de ansichtkaarten van Europa ziet 📸🏙️

Tijdens de reis leren ze onderzoek doen, met de camera werken en interviews afnemen — om de plekken die we “Europa” noemen te laten zien door HUN ogen 🎤🎬👀

Het hele proces wordt gefilmd door Waël Sghaier, filmmaker en regisseur van de documentaire Banlie.ue uit 2023, waarin hij populaire buitenwijken in verschillende Europese steden onderzoekt 🎞️

𝑬𝒆𝒏 𝒎𝒐𝒐𝒊𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒌 𝒗𝒐𝒐𝒓 𝑱𝒊𝒙! 🌟

Jix volgt het traject MijnSchool aan het Graafschap College en reageerde op één van onze vacatures voor langdurige stages. Vorige week had ze haar eerste kennismaking bij het buurthuis in Berlijn-Moabit, waar ze vanaf januari aan de slag gaat.

Dit buurthuis is een plek waar wijkbewoners van alle leeftijden samenkomen. Er worden cursussen en creatieve workshops georganiseerd, mensen kunnen er terecht voor sociaal advies of gewoon binnenlopen voor een gezellig gesprek en contact met anderen.

De kennismaking beviel van beide kanten goed. Jix had meteen een superleuke klik met de medewerkers en kwam enthousiast met allerlei ideeën. Precies wat je hoopt te zien bij iemand die aan een nieuwe uitdaging begint!

Wij vinden het ontzettend leuk dat we Jix hebben mogen helpen bij het vinden van deze plek en wensen haar alvast heel veel plezier, succes en vooral een mooie en leerzame stage toe. Op naar januari! 💪✨

Jix is following the "Mijn School" programme at Graafschap College and applied for one of our long-term internship opportunities. Last week, she had her first introduction at a community centre in Berlin-Moabit, where she will start her internship in January.

This community centre is a place where local residents of all ages can come together. It offers courses and creative workshops, social advice, and simply a welcoming place to meet others and connect with people in the neighbourhood.

The introduction went really well on both sides. Jix immediately had a great connection with the team and arrived full of enthusiasm and ideas. Exactly what you hope to see when someone is starting a new challenge!

We’re really happy that we were able to support Jix in finding this opportunity and wish her lots of fun, success and, above all, a wonderful and valuable internship experience. Bring on January! 💪✨

De zomer is het moment om even stil te staan, te reflecteren en te vernieuwen! ☀️

De afgelopen weken hebben we de zomerperiode gebruikt om kritisch naar onze werkwijze te kijken. Hoe kunnen we studenten nog actiever betrekken? En hoe zorgen we ervoor dat ze Berlijn niet alleen zien, maar de stad ook écht leren kennen en begrijpen?

In het bijzonder hebben we gekeken naar de Kreuzberg Tour. In deze tour staat het karakter van Berlijn centraal. We duiken in thema’s als subculturen, street art, gentrificatie en het multiculturele karakter van de stad.

De afgelopen tijd hebben we gewerkt aan een nieuwe methode om studenten op een andere en actieve manier kennis te laten maken met deze bijzondere wijk en de verschillende verhalen die Berlijn te vertellen heeft. Aan de hand van verschillende opdrachten gaan ze vervolgens zelf op ontdekkingstocht door Kreuzberg. 🎨🔎

En het leukste? 👀 Dit najaar gaan we deze nieuwe methode tijdens onze projecten voor het eerst testen! 😍

Summer is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and renew! ☀️

Over the past few weeks, we've used the summer period to take a critical look at the way we work. How can we involve students even more actively? And how can we make sure they don't just see Berlin, but truly get to know and understand the city?

In particular, we've been taking a closer look at our Kreuzberg Tour. The tour focuses on the unique character of Berlin, exploring themes such as subcultures, street art, gentrification, and the city's multicutural character.

Recently, we've been working on a new approach to introduce students to this fascinating neigbourhood and the many stories Berlin has to tell in a more active and engaging way. Through a series of different assignments, they'll set out on their own journey of discovery through Kreuzberg. 🎨🔎

And the best part? 👀 This autumn, we’ll be testing this new approach for the first time during our projects! 😍

🍂 𝑾𝒆 𝒛𝒊𝒋𝒏 𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒖𝒈!

De zomervakantie is voorbij en het team van Clash! is volop aan de slag. Achter de schermen hebben we niet stilgezeten: deze zomer hebben we internationale projecten begeleid en er ook zelf aan deelgenomen, en hebben flink gesleuteld aan onze methodes en tours.

We zijn klaar voor wat het nieuwe schooljaar in petto heeft, en dat is nogal wat!

Want binnenkort kunnen we naast onze vertrouwde slaaplocaties in de stad voor het eerst ook onze eigen accommodatie gaan aanbieden aan groepen. We verwachten dat dit veel moois met zich mee zal brengen! En, we mogen alvast verklappen dat ons team komend jaar gaat groeien, wat betekent dat we nóg meer toffe projecten kunnen gaan realiseren voor studenten en professionals.

Kortom: het wordt een uitdagend jaar, maar we hebben er ontzettend veel zin in. Tot snel! 🚀

Summer break is over and the Clash! team is back in full swing. Behind the scenes, we haven't been sitting still: this summer we organised international projects and took part in them ourselves, and put a lot of work into sharpening our methods and tours.

We're ready for whatever the new school year has in store, and that's quite a lot!
Because soon, alongside our trusted accommodation spots across the city, we'll be offering our own dedicated accommodation for groups for the first time. We expect this to bring a lot of good things! And we can already let you in on a secret: our team will be growing this year, which means we'll be able to run even more great projects for students and professionals.

Hoi! Ik ben Sacha Koolen en ik mag met trots vertellen dat ik het komende halfjaar tijdelijk mag leren en ontwikkelen bij Clash!

Ik ben 20 jaar en studeer aan De Rooi Pannen Eindhoven waar ik de opleiding Marketing & Communicatie volg met als specialisatie Sportmarketing. Daarnaast woon ik sinds kort voor het eerst op mezelf. Best spannend, maar tot nu toe loopt alles vlekkeloos!

Een huis vinden was niet het aller makkelijkste, maar als je het bij genoeg plekken probeert, zit er uiteindelijk altijd wel eentje tussen die raak is.

Ik hou van sporten, muziek, films, kleding en eigenlijk alles wat met kunst & cultuur te maken heeft.

Als jij jezelf hierin herkent, dan is Berlijn zeker de stad voor jou! Bomvol cultuur, kunst, geschiedenis, diversiteit en alles wat daarbij komt kijken. Check daarom vooral ook even onze website voor mogelijke stageplekken bij verschillende bedrijven waar wij jou bij kunnen helpen!

Hi! I’m Sacha Koolen, and I’m proud to share that I’ll be spending the next six months learning and developing my skills at Clash!

I’m 20 years old and currently studying Marketing & Communication at Rooi Pannen, specializing in Sports Marketing. I’ve also recently moved out and am living on my own for the first time. It’s definitely exciting and a little nerve-wracking, but so far, everything has been going smoothly!

Finding a place wasn’t the easiest, but I’ve learned that if you keep trying and putting yourself out there, eventually something will work out.

I love sports, music, movies, fashion, and pretty much everything related to art and culture. If you’re into the same things, Berlin is definitely the city for you! It’s packed with culture, art, history, diversity, and so much more.

𝐎𝐧𝐳𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐤𝐣𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐣𝐧

Dennis:
Op zaterdagochtend heb ik inmiddels een klein ritueel: bijna iedere week bezoek ik samen met mijn dochter van drie de Winterfeldtmarkt in Schöneberg. 🥕🍎☕️

De markt is voor mij veel meer dan een plek om boodschappen te doen. Tussen de kraampjes met groente, fruit en street food spelen muzikanten en komen allerlei mensen uit de buurt samen.

En juist dat vind ik zo mooi aan Schöneberg. We wonen midden in een miljoenenstad als Berlijn, maar op zaterdagochtend voelt onze buurt soms als een groot dorp.

We komen eigenlijk altijd wel bekenden tegen. Even een praatje maken, samen iets eten op de markt en soms daarna met de kinderen door naar de speeltuin. Zonder dat je iets afspreekt, ontstaan er vanzelf ontmoetingen.

Misschien is dat wel wat een buurt tot een echte buurt maakt: niet alleen de plek waar je woont, maar een plek waar je elkaar tegenkomt en onderdeel bent van een gemeenschap.

Dennis:
On Saturday mornings, I’ve developed a little ritual: almost every week, I visit the Winterfeldtmarkt in Schöneberg with my 3-year-old daughter. 🥕🍎☕️

For me, the market is much more than just a place to do some shopping. Between the stalls selling vegetables, fruit and street food, musicians are playing and people from all over the neighbourhood come together.

And that’s exactly what I love about Schöneberg. We live right in the middle of a city of millions like Berlin, but on Saturday mornings, our neighbourhood sometimes feels like one big village.

We almost always run into people we know. We stop for a chat, grab something to eat together at the market, and sometimes head to the playground with the kids afterwards. Without making any plans, these little encounters just happen naturally.

Maybe that’s what turns a neighbourhood into a real community: it’s not just the place where you live, but a place where you meet people and feel part of something.
