NORDWIND is a platform for encounter of international artists. Upcoming: NORDWIND FESTIVAL 4.-15.12.2024 HAMBURG

NORDWIND was founded in 2006 by Ricarda Ciontos and since then has continuously grown into a platform and festival. In the beginning, the festival was dedicated exclusively to the Nordic countries, but by now the festival functions more as a platform for the encounter between Nordic and international artists. In the 2017 edition of NORDWIND, productions from abroad and co-productions with artists

from the Arctic region, Nordic countries, African continent and Berlin and Hamburg will be shown at six different performance venues: Kampnagel, SAVVY Contemporary, Silent Green, Studio 1 in the Art Centre Bethanien, Galerie Wedding and the Theatre of Nations in Moscow. Nordwind will also cooperate with the KW Institute for Contemporary Art for certain projects.

Second round. As the global order visibly shifts, the question of the „right“ stance for art is being negotiated with increasing urgency. What does security mean? For artists, for cultural workers, for institutions, for audiences? And how can we rethink solidarity beyond mere interests?

Antonia Alampi, Mario Neumann, Eva Yakubovska, Amelie Deuflhard, and Jean Peters come together to explore the making of sustainable alliances. Moderated by Myropi-Margarita Tsomou. A Panel discussion held in English.

Und weiter geht’s: Die Bewertung von Kulturprojekten durch den Verfassungsschutz. Intransparente Entscheidungsprozesse. Politische Einflussnahme auf die Arbeit unabhängiger Fachjurys.
Die „Neuaufstellung“ des Bundesförderprogramms „Demokratie leben!“ Förderstopp für über 200 Projekte ohne Begründung. Rücknahme bereits zugesagter Förderungen. The list goes on.

Zentrale Schutzstrukturen, Netzwerke und zivilgesellschaftliche Bildungsangebote werden geschwächt. Im Gegenzug treten Bewegungen der Solidarität mit den Betroffenen vor. Der Eindruck wächst, dass Entscheidungsträger:innen den Projektträger:innen misstrauen und die Kulturlandschaft in einer Stimmung der Unsicherheit politisch neu ordnen wollen.

Was ist der Status quo? Was passiert derzeit in erschreckender Geschwindigkeit? Wie versucht die Politik die Kulturlandschaft umzupflügen? Wer profitiert hiervon eigentlich? Und wer verliert?

Kulturelle Missstände sind stets Indikatoren für tiefergehende gesellschaftliche Schieflagen. Über Kultur und Gesellschaft diskutieren Abdalrahman Alqalaq (.alqalaq), Deborah Feldman (), Madhumita Nandi (), Heinrich Horwitz () und Lea Voigt, moderiert von Anja Quickert (), am 15.04.2026 um 19:30 Uhr in der Spore Initative, Berlin (.initiative). Eintritt frei.
