Moore sind wichtige Ökosysteme und unverzichtbar im Kampf gegen den Klimawandel. Das BfN unterstützt mit dem Forschungs- und Entwicklungsvorhaben „MoorNet“ die Umsetzung der Nationalen Moorschutzstrategie. Bei einer Online-Veranstaltung über die Nationale Moorschutzstrategie informierten sich Anfang Oktober über 230 Teilnehmende aus Forschungseinrichtungen, Behörden, Verbänden, Stiftungen, Ingenieurbüros und Landwirtschaftsbetrieben über die Angebote des Vernetzungsprojektes „MoorNet“, darunter die neue Webseite Moor-Net und die Moorschutz-Datenbank, in der aktuelle Moorschutz-Projekte, beteiligte Institutionen und Förderprogramme in Deutschland fortlaufend zusammengetragen werden.

📣 Einladung zur Veranstaltung: Wie viel globale Klimagerechtigkeit steckt in der neuen Agrarpolitik?🚜🌽🌾

Die neue gemeinsame Agrarpolitik der EU ( 2023-2027) wurde nach langen Verhandlungen beschlossen und trat Anfang des Jahres in Kraft. Im Einklang mit dem European Green Deal soll sie den Übergang zu einer nachhaltigen Landwirtschaft in der gesamten EU unterstützen.

📅 Am 7. November 2023 spricht Aaron Scheid vom Ecologic Institut darüber:

- weshalb die GAP uns alle interessieren sollte,

Moore sind Lebensraum seltener spezialisierter Tier- und Pflanzenarten, dienen als enormer Kohlenstoffspeicher und spielen eine wichtige Rolle im Kampf gegen den Klimawandel. Ihr Schutz ist daher von höchster Bedeutung. Zur Stärkung des Moorschutzes beschloss die Bundesregierung im November 2022 die Nationale Moorschutzstrategie.

Unterstützt wird das Bundesamt für Naturschutz BfN bei der fachlichen Begleitung der Umsetzung der Moorschutzstrategie sowie der Vernetzung der Akteure durch das Projekt “MoorNet”. Das Vernetzungsprojekt stellt sich und seine Angebote am Mittwoch, den 11. Oktober 2023 von 10:00-12:00 Uhr, vor.

Im Fokus dieser Veranstaltung steht die neue MoorNet-Internetseite mit einer Datenbank zu Moorschutzprojekten und Förderprogrammen in Deutschland, die fortlaufend ergänzt wird. Des Weiteren erhalten Teilnehmende einen Überblick über die weiteren MoorNet-Aktivitäten und -Angebote sowie die Rolle des Projekts in Hinblick auf die Umsetzung der Nationalen Moorschutzstrategie und den Moorschutz allgemein.
