AI & The Human Future

Artificial intelligence is no longer just reshaping industries — it is reshaping how we live, relate, create, decide, and understand what it means to be human.

On June 8 at Factory Berlin, this fireside conversation moves beyond applications and use cases to explore AI at a deeper level: as a force transforming institutions, relationships, creativity, power, and the systems that shape society itself.

Instead of asking what AI can do, this session asks what AI is doing to us — and what kind of future we are actively building in response.

This is a conversation about systems, society, and the human experience in an age of accelerating intelligence.

Speakers:

Vera Futorjanski — Founder & CEO of Veritas Ventures Global and TEDxBerlin Board Member. Vera is a globally recognised strategist working at the intersection of innovation, capital, and geopolitics. Through Veritas Ventures, she advises governments, investors, and founders on building and scaling innovation ecosystems across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Dr. Alassaf — SVP of Engineering at HUMAIN, PhD in Computer Science from George Washington University, and former Microsoft engineering leader with 20+ years of experience building large-scale AI systems and products.

Dr. Hanaa Almoaibed — CEO of Wonder Inc. and creator of Akoon, the Kingdom’s first AI-enabled youth career discovery platform, focusing on human capability, AI literacy, and the future of work in the GCC.

Together, they explore how AI is reshaping not just what we build — but who we become.

And this is exactly the kind of conversation that tends to stay with you long after it ends.

The Agentic Turn

Something fundamental is shifting in how AI works.

We are moving beyond systems that respond — and into systems that plan, decide, and act.

On June 8 at Factory Berlin, this session explores the rise of agentic AI: systems that no longer wait for instructions step by step, but execute multi-stage workflows, coordinate processes, and increasingly make consequential decisions with a growing degree of autonomy inside real organisations.

This is not a future scenario. Agentic systems are already being deployed across financial services, insurance, industry, and enterprise AI — quietly reshaping how decisions get made and how work gets done.

But with that shift comes a set of questions organisations are only beginning to confront:

How do you design systems you can trust to act on your behalf?
Where does human oversight begin — and where does it end?
And what does leadership look like when your most productive “colleagues” might not be human?

This panel brings together leaders who are not theorising about agentic AI — but actively building, deploying, and governing it at scale across Europe’s most critical industries.

And this is where it gets interesting: these systems are already inside the workflow.

You just might not see them yet.

Speakers:

Tobias Schlösser — Co-Managing Director of S-Communication Services GmbH and innovation leader at Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, turning emerging technologies into real-world products and transformation across one of Germany’s largest financial networks.

Maria Serebrianaya — Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company and leader of McKinsey QuantumBlack’s Insurance AI Lab, driving agentic transformation programs and reusable AI workflows across financial institutions globally.

Cris Turner — Vice President of Knowledge & Information Products at Google’s Global Affairs & Public Policy team, shaping global policy strategies around Search, Ads, Geo, and AI systems.

Mingyang Ma — Head of Agentic AI Solutions Development at appliedAI, leading the Agent AI Lighthouse Program and guiding large-scale agentic transformation across European industry while redefining decision-making and governance structures.

This is not a conversation about what is coming.

It is a conversation about what is already here — and how quickly the rules are changing.

The New AI Marketing Playbook

While some brands are still experimenting with AI, others are already using it to scale creativity, accelerate production, and redefine how they connect with audiences. The gap between the two is growing fast.

On June 8 at Factory Berlin, this session brings together three leading voices from brand strategy, creative leadership, and marketing academia to explore one of the most important questions in business today:

What happens to marketing when AI can generate the content — but not the meaning?

As AI transforms content creation and campaign ex*****on, marketers face a new reality: content is becoming limitless, but attention remains scarce. In this environment, the brands that win won’t necessarily be those with the most AI — but those that understand identity, trust, and relevance better than anyone else.

Joining the discussion:

Marcus Schögel — Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), one of Europe’s leading experts on strategic marketing, customer centricity, and digital transformation.

Marc Sasserath — CEO of Sasserath 1871 and Affiliate Professor at ESCP Business School, exploring how brands are built through identity, culture, and psychology.

Glazione Rocha — Global Creative Director at Zalando, leading AI-powered fashion campaigns across 29 European markets and helping shape the future of creative production at scale.

If you work in marketing, branding, communications, or growth, this is one of those conversations you’ll want to be part of — because the decisions being made today will define how brands compete tomorrow.

KI in der Praxis: Zwischen Hype und Handwerk – Lehren aus 50+ KI-Projekten

On June 8 at Factory Berlin, this session brings together people who are not just talking about AI transformation, but actively building and operating it across organizations, media, and public institutions.

At its core, the discussion moves away from abstract promises and toward real-world experience: what actually works when AI is introduced into complex organizations — and what doesn’t.

Because AI adoption is not just a tooling question. It is a question of organization, culture, expectation management, and the ability to persist through uncertainty. Drawing from more than 50 AI projects across industries, the speakers share honest lessons learned: where companies typically struggle, which assumptions turned out to be wrong, what proved surprisingly effective, and which approaches scale across different contexts.

This session features perspectives from media, digital platforms, business services, and public sector innovation.

Speakers:

Johanna Heise — Head of Brand & Culture at heise, CEO of heise ventures, and Member of the Executive Board at heise academy, driving AI transformation within one of Germany’s leading media organizations.

Katharina Happ — leads AI transformation for GMX.de and Web.de at 1&1, focusing on cultural change in editorial environments, prompting strategies, and the future of work.

Thomas Jannot — Head of Heise Business Services, author, and long-time editor, exploring AI’s impact on content production and business models in media.

Christian Steiner — Project spokesperson at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, focusing on ethics and AI through the example of a political chatbot.

Moderated by Julian Krämer.

Together, they examine AI not as a concept — but as a practice shaped by real constraints, real organizations, and real people.

Skills in the Age of AI: What Should Education Actually Teach?

On June 8 at Factory Berlin, this session asks a question that is becoming impossible to avoid: if machines can now handle the technical, the repetitive — and increasingly even the creative — what are humans actually for?

This is not a theoretical debate. It is one of the most urgent curriculum questions of our time. And the answer goes far beyond “learn to code.” It points toward something deeper: the rediscovery of distinctly human capabilities — critical thinking, creativity, ethical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to know when to trust or challenge a machine.

This panel brings together perspectives from AI education, digital inclusion, and responsible AI research to explore what true AI literacy should look like in practice.

Speakers:

Shaje Ganny — Founder of Swiss AI Academy, focused on building accessible AI education pathways and future-ready learning.

Pierluigi Delgiudice — Head of Digital Programs at ReDI School of Digital Integration, working on inclusive digital education for diverse communities.

Daniele Quercia — Director of Responsible AI at Nokia Bell Labs Cambridge, exploring how technology can better align with human wellbeing and values.

Together, they explore what students, workers, and citizens actually need to learn in an AI-driven world — and who gets to decide what “readiness” really means.

The future of skills is not only technical. It is profoundly human.

How to Chase Criminals with AI

On June 8 at Factory Berlin, this interactive workshop dives into one of the most urgent challenges of today’s digital world: the growing erosion of trust caused by AI-generated manipulation, synthetic identities, and increasingly sophisticated fraud.

Rather than a traditional talk, this session creates a space for real dialogue and collaborative problem-solving. Through a facilitated roundtable format, participants will exchange ideas, discuss real-world challenges, and explore how organizations can build trust in an age of intelligent systems.

Led by Jan Syrinek, Head of Product at Resistant AI, the workshop explores how trust is built, verified, and increasingly challenged in AI-powered environments — especially across identity verification, onboarding, and compliance systems.

Together, participants will unpack questions around:

• The rise of AI-powered fraud — from deepfakes and synthetic documents to identity spoofing
• Why existing verification systems struggle to keep up
• How AI can become a powerful tool for fraud detection and prevention
• What resilient, human-centered trust infrastructure should look like

As AI becomes more powerful, the question is no longer just how to build smarter systems — but how to build systems people can trust.

Creative Intelligence: How AI and Agent-Based Workflows Are Transforming the Media and Creative Industries

On June 8 at Factory Berlin, this session explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping creative industries — from storytelling and gaming to film production, content creation, and entirely new ways of working.

As AI evolves beyond tools and toward agent-based workflows, the conversation shifts from automation to collaboration: how will creative work change when intelligent systems can actively participate in ideation, production, and decision-making?

This discussion examines how AI is already being used across gaming, film, and media today — and what new creative possibilities, business models, and responsibilities are emerging as a result.

Joining the discussion:

Tommy Thompson — AI researcher and Founder & Director of AI and Games, exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and interactive entertainment.

Paul Probst — AI Product Manager and AI Artist at PROMPTR, working at the frontier of creative AI applications and emerging workflows.

Maximilian von Perfall — Strategic Partnerships Lead at YouTube/Google, bringing perspectives on innovation and the evolving media ecosystem.

Moderated by Jeannine Koch — Chairwoman of the Board and Managing Director of medianet berlinbrandenburg.

Bringing together technological perspectives, creative practice, and strategic innovation, this session explores the future of an industry in transition — and asks how humans and AI might create together.
