SAVVY Contemporary situates itself at the threshold of notions of the West and non-West, to understand and deconstruct them. SAVVY Contemporary has realized a kaleidoscope of art exhibitions, performances, film screenings, lectures, concerts, re

adings, talks, dances. SAVVY Contemporary has established a participatory archive on German colonial history, a performance arts documentation centre, a library, a residency program, as well as educational projects with schools. The art space engages in its neighborhood's history and socio-political realities which are entangled with the reflections and discourses of the project.

RE-MIXING THE STAGE: CIRCULAR LISTENING SESSIONS opens up the question of how we can meet and listen to each other beyond hierarchies, impositions, frameworks, and modern categories. At first glance, it proposes a “simple” way of encountering one another, searching for what Silvia Cusicanqui calls a Ch’ixi world – where opposing forces and contradictions coexist without seeking synthesis.

As part of the exhibition Botanical Memories, WE ARE AIA and SAVVY Contemporary are looking forward to present a talk introducing their long term collaboration on the Botanical Garden of the Future as part of Zurich Art Weekend. The conversation explores the botanical garden as a living archive shaped by plant migration, colonial histories, ecological change, and diverse knowledge systems. We ask how botanical gardens can move beyond display to become spaces of dialogue, participation, and shared learning in response to biodiversity loss and climate injustice.

tru.l is a Romanian Dj and promoter who is also behind Berlin’s Smoothin Groovin dances and a Refuge Worldwide regular. She is constantly bringing joy throughout her sets, which always feel caring and intimate. Smoothin Groovin dances aim to be an alternative, a more soulful approach on universal dance music, focusing on bridging different, lesser-known musical directions from around the world, including the real sound of the Balkans.

Through guided physical exploration and moments of dialogue, participants investigate gestures, emotions, and everyday movement patterns as material for inquiry. The laboratory is open to the public, welcoming diverse perspectives to shape the research process.

〰️✨ A FEW LAST SPOTS AVAILABLE: Join us on Wednesday, for a workshop where we will examine AI not as a neutral tool, but as a system that fundamentally reshapes how art, culture, and heritage are produced, distributed, and valued — one that carries within it specific histories, hierarchies, and economic interests.

Taking artistic practice as its central site of inquiry, the workshop explores how AI systems embed historical inequalities and cultural archives — and how artistic strategies can intervene.

All participants are warmly invited to bring their own experiences and questions into the conversation.

is an artist, composer, filmmaker, and cultural instigator whose practice connects sonic research with curatorial projects that span art, science, and society through performances, installations, and collaborative labs. He founded SABAW Media Art Kitchen and WSK Festival Of The Recently Possible, and has pioneered platforms for new media and sound art in the Philippines and the region. He also co-founded the international music platform NUSASONIC.

is an Indonesian artist and community catalyst based in Berlin. His interdisciplinary practice critically engages with systemic structures while addressing the emotional and cultural dimensions of displacement and identity. Working across performance, sound art, and socially engaged projects — with a keen focus on social and climate injustice — he co-founded the collaborative platform and art group sōydivsion, the think-tank initiative Mutating Kinship Lab, and the empathy-driven sound collective L-KW.

How can we come together around music while undoing the elevation of the DJ booth and the stage format? What lies beyond performing and partying?
Echoing this central question of the series were Lionza [Fania Brava Party] and Nico [Oroko Radio]:
music ist a DJ, producer, and cultural manager from Caracas, Venezuela, known for her distinctive and highly valued collection of original vinyl records from the 1960s and 70s, mostly featuring music created by the Caribbean diaspora in New York. She is part of the team, an event series that promotes FLINTA Latin artists.

, co-founder of , is a Berlin and Accra-based artist, DJ, curator, and programmer. He is interested in various forms of social and cultural events, empowering and uplifting his community. Nico co-founded the Ghana-based online radio station Oroko Radio as well as the Berlin DJ collective Einhundert.
