IPB - International Peace Bureau

IPB - International Peace Bureau www.ipb.org IPB’s mission is to create a world without war and with a positive peace, in which conflicts are resolved by non-military and non-violent means.

The International Peace Bureau (IPB) is the world’s oldest and largest international peace network – founded in 1891, IPB won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1910 for acting "as a link between the peace societies of the various countries". We underline the interconnections between peace and climate change, human rights, gender and racial equality, economic equality, and good governance. Our network oppos

Strong glimpse of hope from Italy/Aviano Air base protests!

🌈✌️ Thousands marched for peace in Aviano, Italy, on June 7, carrying a clear message: “Against war, rearmament, and nuclear warheads.”

The peace march, attended by an estimated 2,000–3,000 people, began in Piazza Duomo and continued to the U.S. military base, bringing together peace activists, trade unionists, anti-war organizations, and representatives from across the political spectrum.

At a time of growing militarization and rising global tensions, participants called for diplomacy, disarmament, and an end to war.

Welfare Not Warfare! The International Peace Bureau (IPB), together with our governance members and peace movement allies, stands with the Stop ReArm Europe coalition in calling on EU and national decision-makers to invest in people—not militarization.

We demand investments in healthcare, education, decent work, housing, climate justice, international solidarity, diplomacy, arms control, and nuclear disarmament.

As part of the Stop ReArm Europe coalition, we urge Members of the European Parliament to reject any long-term EU budget that allocates €131 billion to defence, security, and space while cutting social and cohesion funding.

We also carried the voice of our GCOMS - Global Campaign on Military Spending, Peace and Climate Justice initiatives, and No to War - No to NATO, demanding that governments move the money from weapons and war to peace, social justice, climate action, and human security.

Public money should build peace, protect people, and safeguard our planet—not fuel an arms race.

Welfare Not Warfare! Today in Brussels, we joined more than 12,000 peacebuilders, activists, trade unionists, and community members to send a clear message: our taxes should fund healthcare, education, social protection, climate action, and DECENT LIVING CONDITIONS —not weapons and war.

We OPPOSE the European Union's and NATO's drive to rearm and reject the idea that security can be built through militarization. Real security comes from INVESTING IN PEOPLE, justice, cooperation, diplomacy, and a livable planet.

OUR money should improve lives, not fuel war. Our future should be built on PEACE, not fear.

WELFARE NOT WARFARE!

Join the Month Of Decentralized Action in Europe! 🌍💙
