We are honoured to announce that Katarina Barley,Vice-President of the European Parliament, will serve as Patron of the 2026 JCI European Know-How Transfer.
A strong advocate for democracy, the rule of law and European values, Katarina Barley has dedicated her career to public service and European cooperation. She has held several ministerial positions in the German government, including serving as Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection from 2018 to 2019. Since 2019, she has served as Vice-President of the European Parliament.
Her commitment to European values, dialogue and civic engagement makes her an inspiring Patron for this year's programme.

From 11 to 15 October 2026, nearly 60 young leaders from across Europe and beyond will gather at the European Parliament in Brussels for the JCI European Know-How Transfer. Through exchanges with Members of the European Parliament, workshops and institutional visits, participants will gain first-hand insight into the European decision-making process and explore how they can contribute to shaping Europe's future.

We are grateful to Ms Barley for her support and look forward to welcoming her as Patron of the 2026 edition.

Great leaders don't just manage—they inspire, plan, and create impact. The JCI Europe Local Boards Academy is designed to equip Local Board members with the practical skills and strategies needed to lead successful organizations throughout the year.

Over two interactive days, participants will develop their Plan of Action, strengthen their leadership skills, explore recruitment and retention strategies, learn how to build sustainable finances, attract partners, and amplify their organization's visibility through effective marketing. The journey concludes with a Grand Finale on 29 September, where each Local Board will present its finalized Plan of Action and receive valuable feedback before officially launching their year.
