Music For Identity gUG is happy to collaborate with Reclaim – Ecofeminist Alliance e.V. as part of the Seeding Freedom Festival 30.05.2026.

Join us for an interactive Kurdish music performance led by the renowned multidisciplinary artist Hêja Netirk .netirk
Through collective singing, rhythm, and traditional dances, the session invites the audience into a shared musical experience where everyone becomes part of the performance.

Open to all ages and musical backgrounds. You’re welcome to sing, dance, play along, or simply enjoy the performance. Feel free to bring your own instruments and be part of the collective musical experience.

Wir freuen uns besonders, Ufuk Elik erneut bei MFI als Trainer für unsere Workshops zur anatolischen Musik willkommen zu heißen.

ist ein Musiker und Musikwissenschaftler aus Istanbul, der heute in Berlin tätig ist. Er studierte Musikwissenschaft am Staatskonservatorium der Technischen Universität Istanbul und war dort anschließend als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter tätig. Seine Ausbildung an der Bağlama begann 2001 bei Prof. Erol Parlak.
Er wirkte an internationalen Projekten in Schweden, Italien und Frankreich mit und gründete das Istanbul Bağlama Quartett. 2024 war er Jurymitglied des Bağlama-Wettbewerbs an der UdK Berlin.
Zu seinen Veröffentlichungen zählen das Soloalbum Kervan / Caravan (2023), das Duoalbum Delil sowie die Single Aman Doktor (2024). Derzeit spielt er im Folktronica-Duo PAYE und unterrichtet Bağlama in seinem Atelier und Tonstudio in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

Wir freuen uns sehr, Nafsika Gkotzamani als Trainerin bei unseren Workshops zu Anatolischer Musik begrüßen zu dürfen.

Nafsika Gkotzamani ist eine griechische Musikerin und engagierte Musikpädagogin. Sie verfügt über einen Masterabschluss in Musikwissenschaft und Musikpädagogik sowie über weiterführende Spezialisierungen in ihrem Fachgebiet. Seit über 15 Jahren widmet sie sich intensiv der Kunst des Qanun (Kanonaki) und hat dabei sowohl als Interpretin als auch als Lehrerin eine unverwechselbare künstlerische Stimme entwickelt.

Mit großer Leidenschaft vermittelt sie griechische traditionelle Musik und das Qanun in Schulen und Gemeinschaftsgruppen, sowohl in Griechenland als auch international. Im Mittelpunkt ihrer Arbeit steht der tiefe Glaube an die Musik als kraftvolles Mittel des Ausdrucks und der Verbindung zwischen Menschen. Durch ihren Unterricht möchte sie andere inspirieren und zugleich das reiche Erbe der griechischen traditionellen und mündlich überlieferten Gemeinschaftsmusik bewahren und weitergeben.

Wir freuen uns sehr, Talin Hajintsi als Trainerin bei unseren Workshops zu Anatolischer Musik begrüßen zu dürfen.

Talin Hajintsi – Community ist Revolution
Für Talin Hajintsi ist die Bedeutung von Musik der Zusammenhalt einer Community - ein
Widerstand gegen Unterdrückung.
Die westarmenische Musikerin und Tänzerin wuchs in der Berliner Diaspora mit der
armenischen Musik ihrer Familie auf. Als Sängerin, Oud-Spielerin und gelegentliche
Davul-Spielerin hält sie diese Volkslieder bis heute am Leben. Unter anderem mithilfe
ihres Wissens als studierte Musikpädagogin und durch die enge Zusammenarbeit mit
bekannten armenischen Musiker*innen und Musikethnolog*innen wie Lilit Pipoyan,
Hasmik Harutyunyan und Nune Atanesyan.
Motiviert von ihrer Leidenschaft, sich für den Erhalt indigener Kulturen einzusetzen, teilt
sie die armenische Kultur durch Aufführungen, Gesangsunterricht und Song- und
Tanzworkshops.

Die Workshops richten sich an junge Menschen, die gerne singen oder ein Instrument spielen, unabhängig vom musikalischen Niveau. Wichtig sind vor allem Neugier, Offenheit und Lust, gemeinsam Musik zu machen und Neues auszuprobieren.

Maviş Güneşer is a singer and composer from Varto, born in 1975. She began her musical career in the 1990s in Istanbul with the group Agıré Jiyan. In 1998, she released her first solo album Keje, featuring her own compositions in the Zazaki language.

Her work engages deeply with the musical and literary traditions of Dersim, particularly Alevi heritage, including collaborations with Metin and Kemal Kahraman. She has also been active in international and multilingual contexts, including work with the band Lilith.

Maviş Güneşer has composed music for various films and documentaries. Her 2019 album Ax de Vaji traces the past hundred years of Dersim’s history through lament songs, functioning as a form of oral historiography. With her album Dılgran, released since 2022, she explores themes of love, longing, and melancholy.

Today, Maviş Güneşer continues her work on oral history and archiving rooted in the cultural region of Dersim, with a particular focus on “Hewa Ceniyu / women’s songs.”

“Deng” means “sound” and “bêj” means “to tell” in Kurdish. A “Dengbêj” is a traditional singer-storyteller who goes from village to village to perform Klam, meaning "words" in Kurdish, Persian, Arabic, and Turkish, yet only in Kurdish, also a song.
Hêja Netirk, a native of Kurdistan now living in exile, reimagines this tradition in a new space. Connecting to the roots with cables. She is the Dengbêj in the Disco.

Parang Farazmand, a Kurdish musician and ethnomusicologist from East Kurdistan in Iran, holds a B.A. in Western Classical Music with a focus on piano from the University of Tehran. She also earned a master's degree in Ethnomusicology from Tehran University of Arts and a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology from Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. Her research mainly centers on Kurdish music across different regions of Great Kurdistan, maqam music systems, and Iranian Dasgah music. She has conducted extensive fieldwork on Kurdish music traditions in Iran, Turkey, and Iraq, as well as among the Kurdish diaspora in Sweden. Besides her music performances, Parang has published several works on Kurdish music, and since 2020, she has been a research associate and lecturer in ethnomusicology at MLU, Halle.

Elham Hamedi is a Kamancheh player and composer rooted in traditional Kurdish and Iranian music. She holds a B.A. in Iranian Traditional Music Performance and received her training under esteemed masters such as Reza, Parviz Zade, Ardeshir Kamkar and Ehsan Zabihifar. Elham has performed internationally, contributed to film scores, and released several recordings. Her compositions have been featured by ensembles like Lux:nm and recognized with awards at the Joseph Dorfman Memorial Composition Competition. Currently, she is expanding her artistic practice through studies in contemporary composition at the Barenboim–Said Academy in Berlin.

Mevan Younes is a composer and buzuq player from Al-Hasakah, Syria. He began learning music at a young age from his father, with a strong foundation in Kurdish musical traditions.
He later studied at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus under Prof. Askar Ali Akbar, where he also worked as a buzuq teacher. Mevan has performed internationally at festivals such as Morgenland Festival and Roskilde Festival, and is a member of the Syrian Arab National Orchestra.
Since 2015, he is based in Berlin, where he continues his work as a performer and educator, active in various ensembles including the Ugarit Trio and the Berlin Orient Ensemble.
