Second day in a row attending FPW 2020 Europe! Thank you to the guests who generously shared their expertise with us: Andrej Matic from the European Parliament Liaison Office to the US Congress, Josephine Harmon academic researcher from UCL, Cristina Juverdeanu political science researcher from King's Colledge London. Special thanks to the wonderful European Horizons conferences team! It was lovely to meet all of you!

We are participating today in the Centre for Turkey and the European Union Studies online summit at the University of Cologne under the motto "More, Less or totally different EU?" addressing the question of how the pandemic can affect the future of the EU and exploring whether the aims for digital transformation works for all members states especially during this pandemic crisis.
The discussion raises issues and questions about the EU-Turkish relations which seems more distant than ever before as well as the issue of differentiated integration which is apparently here to stay in addition to the UK who left membership of 40 years formally.

Congratulations to our volunteer chapter leader for publishing her academic work! In the midst of this uncertainty due to COVID-19, a new tech-dependent normal in our social, economic and political life has started. This arises many questions: How digital technologies will affect our society and what potentials relies on the level of digital literacy? How technology today affects vulnerable populations? Those questions the EuH and ASKO foundation’s new release addresses through an inspiring and diverse compilation of contributions from post-graduate students and young academic researchers.

✨ SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT ✨

Philipp Rombach, one of the speakers in our upcoming event, Young Voices Shaping EU's Digital Future, has held many positions within European Horizons, including Workshop Coordinator and Moderator; Editor of European Horizons' academic journal, The Review of European and Transatlantic Affairs (RETA); and Director of Policy (current position). 🇩🇪

🇪🇺🇪🇺 Outside of European Horizons, Philipp has held a variety of internships and traineeships, his most recent being a traineeship at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission.

📖Philipp has pursued simultaneous degrees in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technical University of Munich as well as Political Science and Economics at LMU Munich.
Philipp is now looking forward to attending The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the College of Europe for a joint MA in Transatlantic Affairs beginning fall 2021.
