As the year comes to an end, we would like to take a moment to reflect on how much you, as strong rural women, have achieved for yourselves, your families, and your communities. 🙌

As you already know, the international collaboration of the dlv will come to an end in just one day. We would like to sincerely thank you and our partners for your dedication, trust, and commitment. Together, we have achieved a lot and, we hope, laid important foundations for sustainable structures – as reflected in the project results. We are proud and grateful that you were part of this journey.

We wish you all the very best for your future endeavors. Stay strong and courageous, and may the coming year bring success, good health, and many new opportunities. 🚀✨

Strong women grow strong communities 🌱

As our international cooperation comes to an end at the end of this year, we take a moment to celebrate the strength and leadership of rural women in Uganda.
Women farmers expanded their skills and confidence through exchanges and trainings, including study tours to Germany. Back home, they turned knowledge into action by improving agricultural value chains, expanding storage for cassava and sweet potatoes, growing mushrooms and producing briquettes from organic waste to reduce firewood use.

What makes this impact last is that women shared what they learned within their organizations and communities, strengthening others along the way and creating real change at local level.

The project may end, but the knowledge, networks and leadership of women farmers in Uganda will continue to grow.

Thank you for shaping the future of agriculture together 💚

We are proud to share the full documentary produced together with the Uganda National Farmers’ Federation as part of the SWISA project of the German Association of Rural Women (dlv). 🎥

Across multiple districts, rural women open up about their journeys — their challenges, their achievements, and the strategies they use to strengthen their livelihoods and communities.
The film highlights locally driven solutions, powerful leadership, and the collective spirit that drives change in rural Uganda.

Their stories remind us why visibility, participation, and solidarity matter — and how much can grow when women are supported and connected.

We are excited to share the final snippet from our documentary series produced together with the Uganda National Farmers Federation. 🎥

In this segment, a rural woman shares her advice for others: stay committed, keep learning, support each other and never underestimate the strength that comes from working together. 💛🌱

Her words reflect the spirit of resilience and determination that drives so many women in rural Uganda. Their experiences continue to inspire and remind us that real change often begins with one voice, one idea, one step.

We are excited to share a new snippet from our documentary, produced together with the Uganda National Farmers Federation as part of our collaboration. 🎥

This video highlights the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP) — a national initiative designed to strengthen economic opportunities for women. Yet many in rural areas are still unaware that this programme exists or how they can access it.

In the documentary, women from different districts share how information, local structures and peer support can open new pathways for income generation, independence and long-term resilience. 🌱
Their stories show how crucial visibility and communication are: a programme can only support people when they know about it.

More inspiring insights from our documentary series will follow soon - stay tuned! 🌍

Today, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a reminder: digital violence is real — and it can turn deadly.
During this year’s 16 Days of Activism, UNiTE UN Women calls to end digital violence against all women and girls.

💔 Digital violence is not "virtual".

From coercive control to surveillance and stalking, violence in digital spaces can turn into real-world violence, including femicide.

Whether online or offline, there is never an excuse for violence.

“I would like to appreciate UNYFA and (German Association of Rural Women-dlv), for boosting my confidence through the ECAWA project. I used to be very shy and couldn’t stand in front of a big audience. Because of this project, my confidence has greatly improved, and I can now speak and lead with courage and currently contesting for a councilor position in my district” Akech Rebecca, Apac District.
