Our goal is to present the current film landscape in Ukraine and to explore it together with the audience. We would like to show high-quality Ukrainian cinema products in cooperation with cinemas and various institutions, with experts and other guests, and make them available for discussion. We strive to familiarize the audience with a multitude of genres and artistic approaches of Ukrainian filmm

akers, to talk about the role and perception of Ukrainian cinema in the German and global context. To carry out exciting projects that will be attractive not only for those interested in Ukraine and Eastern Europe but also for other viewers who are interested in artistic processes and products. With Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin we want to create a platform for the discussion of current issues for Ukraine in a European context. We want to hold our film screenings in professionally suitable rooms, give our viewers time, space, and topics for discussions and create an atmosphere of mutual dialogue.

Dear followers, dear audience,

life is stormy, and plans for the new year should not be set too firmly. But hopes, wishes, and dreams should be. For their sake, all we can do is our best every day — or every other day, or whenever it is possible.

🎉We will do the same this year and hope for new festival and new screenings that we can experience together with you.

🩷 Take care of yourselves! We are sending you a warm, firm embrace full of confidence into the new year.

✨Every year, we are overwhelmed by how many wonderful, talented, and helpful people support our festival during festival week. At the entrance, at the bar, in documentation and photography, in guest services—your support is not something we take for granted. Especially in times of uncertainty, it is a real gift.

Dear volunteers: you are role models. We learn from you, and we appreciate you very much.

Thank you for being with us in 2025! 🤍

The end of the year is always a time of gratitude for us. A lot has happened in 2025—and above all, UFFB 2025 took place. This was made possible by our supporters and partners.✨

We would therefore like to express our special thanks today to:

▪️Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg — for their support and trust in our festival.

▪️ Federal Agency for Civic Education – for its support and repeated collaboration on our panel discussions about documentary films and decolonial perspectives.

▪️ ARTE and Goethe-Institut im Exil – for their outstanding cooperation during our opening and closing ceremonies.

▪️ Vista Print – for its reliable support with our print products and merchandise.

▪️ Embassy of Ukraine in Germany – for its constant willingness to support us financially and in the media.

▪️This year, we were also able to organize our program together with the Institute for Eastern European Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and the Dovzhenko Center – a real enrichment. We would also like to thank Vitsche for its cooperation in presenting 2000 Meter to Andriivka.

📍Thank you to all our festival locations and their teams for the hospitality and your support!

Silent Green Kulturquartier, Zeiss-Großplanetarium Kino, ACUD Kino, Sputnik Kino, Il Kino, City Kino Wedding, Filmkunst 66, Kino ind der Königstadt, CineStar.

📎 And last but not least, a big thank you to our media partners taz, n-ost, and Indie Kino Magazin.

🤍 Thank you all. Without you, this festival would not be possible.
