Over the past month, we have excitedly launched the third year of “Beit HaAm” activities in Vienna, Milan, and The Hague, as well as the fourth year in Barcelona!

Beit HaAm, in collaboration with the World Zionist Organisation, is the place where children meet, learn and play in Hebrew, helping them preserve the language, culture and Israeli identity.

But it’s not only the children who benefit!
Beit HaAm is also a warm space for parents, a place for meaningful conversations, connections, and building a strong, supportive community.

We are proud to open another year of growth, learning, connection and community-building together with our families and children across Europe 🌍

We want to thank WZO for this great partnership and the excellent teams for a successful opening.

בחודש האחרון פתחנו בהתרגשות רבה את שנת הפעילות השלישית של בתי העם בוינה, מילאנו והאג, וגם את השנה הרביעית בברצלונה!

בית העם, בשיתוף עם ההסתדרות הציונית העולמית, הוא המקום שבו הילדים נפגשים, לומדים ומשחקים בעברית, שומרים על השפה, התרבות והזהות הישראלית.

אבל לא רק הילדים מרוויחים!
בית העם הוא גם, מרחב של חיבורים להורים, שיחות ויצירת קהילה חמה ומלוכדת.

אנחנו גאים לפתוח שנה נוספת של צמיחה, למידה, קשרים וחיבורים יחד עם המשפחות והילדים שלנו ברחבי אירופה 🌍

אנו מודים להסתדרות הציונית על שיתוף פעולה פורה וכן לצוותים המובילים של בתי העם על פתיחת שנה מוצלחת.

Last week, our communities came together to remember October 7th, to honor those we lost, and to stand together.

Families, friends, and new faces gathered in memorial ceremonies and moments of reflection, finding strength and comfort in one another.

Thank you to our community members in cities across Europe, who made these gatherings possible.

We will always remember, and never forget 🕯️

בשבוע שעבר התכנסו הקהילות שלנו כדי לזכור את השבעה באוקטובר, לכבד את זכרם של מי שאיבדנו ולעמוד יחד.

משפחות, חברים ופנים חדשות השתתפו בטקסי זיכרון וברגעים של התייחדות, ומצאו כוח ונחמה זה בזה.

תודה לחברי הקהילה שלנו בערים השונות ברחבי אירופה, שאפשרו את המפגשים האלה.

נזכור תמיד ולעולם לא נשכח🕯️

Today marks three years since the cruel and tragic morning of October 7th, the morning that changed all of our lives.

Three years in which pain, loss, and longing have become part of our lives, and in which we carry in our hearts those who were murdered, the hostages who were taken from us, and all those who were uprooted from their homes.

This is the first year we mark this day with no living hostages remaining in Gaza. And still, the pain remains.

These years have shown us how deep the wound and the scar truly are, but also how powerful connection, mutual responsibility, and resilience can be, as a people and as a community.

We bow our heads in remembrance. We will not forget: not those we lost, not those who were taken from us, and not those who carry the pain every day. We keep standing together, in hope for days of quiet and security, and in prayer for peace.

היום מלאו שלוש שנים לבוקר האכזרי והטרגי של ה-7 באוקטובר, הבוקר ששינה את חיינו לתמיד.

שלוש שנים שבהן הכאב, האובדן והגעגוע הפכו לחלק מחיינו, ושבהן אנחנו נושאים בליבנו את הנרצחים, את החטופים שנלקחו מאיתנו, ואת מי שנעקרו מבתיהם.

זו השנה הראשונה שבה אנחנו מציינים את היום הזה כשאין עוד חטופים חיים בעזה. ועדיין, הכאב נשאר.

השנים האלה לימדו אותנו עד כמה עמוקים השבר והצלקת, אבל גם עד כמה חזקים יכולים להיות החיבור, הערבות ההדדית והחוסן שלנו, כעם וכקהילה.

אנחנו מרכינים ראש בזיכרון. לא נשכח: לא את מי שאיבדנו, לא את מי שנלקחו מאיתנו, ולא את אלה שנושאים את הכאב בכל יום. אנחנו ממשיכים לעמוד יחד, בתקווה לימים של שקט וביטחון, ובתפילה לשלום.

The Tishrei holidays that just ended were celebrated in all of our communities in many different ways. Some gathered around the holiday table, others met in the sukkah, the children learned about the holiday traditions, and the adults raised a glass to the new year.

Thank you to all of our teams , to our leading forums, and to all the members of our community who made this happen.

חגי תשרי שהסתיימו נחגגו בכל הקהילות שלנו בשלל דרכים. חלקן התאספו סביב שולחן החג, חלקן נפגשו בסוכה, הילדים למדו על מנהגי החג והבוגרים הרימו כוסית לכבוד השנה החדשה.

תודה לכל אנשי הצוות שלנו, לפורומים המובילים ולכל חברי וחברות הקהילה שגרמו לכל זה לקרות.

GESHER isn’t one connection, it’s three. Between Israeli communities across Europe, learning from and collaborating with each other. Between Israeli communities and local Jewish communities. And between Israeli communities and other immigrant communities who share our cities. That’s what real connection looks like, in every direction. 🤍

גשר הוא לא חיבור אחד, הוא שלושה. בין הקהילות הישראליות באירופה, שלומדות ומשתפות פעולה זו עם זו. בין הקהילות הישראליות לקהילות היהודיות המקומיות. ובין הקהילות הישראליות לקהילות מהגרים נוספות שחיות איתנו באותה עיר. ככה נראה חיבור אמיתי, בכל הכיוונים. 🤍

As Yom Kippur approaches, we take a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect, with ourselves, and with each other.

This is a time to look inward: to acknowledge where we fell short, to ask forgiveness from those we may have hurt, and to open our hearts to a new beginning.

This spirit carries through everything we do at YACHAD, all year round, with our communities and our partners: to pause and look inward, to apologize when it’s needed, to learn and improve, and to always act with humility, with open ears, and a commitment to keep growing together.

עם התקרב יום כיפור, אנחנו עוצרים לרגע להתבונן, להרהר ולהתחבר מחדש, עם עצמנו, ואחד עם השני.
