Pro Namibian Children e.V. hilft im besonders armen Süden Namibias. Im Omomas Care Center finden jedes Jahr rund 165 Waisen- und Straßenkinder ein Zuhause.

Seit 2006 engagiert sich Pro Namibian Children e.V. im Süden Namibias, einer Region, in der noch nicht viel Entwicklungshilfe geleistet wird. Der Kölner Verein ist mit der Unterstüzung von gleich zwei Projekten eine Ausnahme. In der Anna Maasdorp Schule möchten wir langfristig Gartenarbeit in den Schulalltag integrieren und damit Kindern und Jugendlichen mehr Perspektiven auf dem Arbeitsmarkt sich

ern. Durch Initiative des Vorstands von Pro Namibian Children e.V. entstand auch ein Heim mit integrierter Grundschule für mittlerweile 90 Waisen- und Straßenkinder. Jährlich fördert der Verein die Projekte mit rund 40.000 – 50.000€ und sorgt damit für nachhaltige Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe. Generiert wird das Geld durch Mitgliedsbeiträge, Einzelspenden und Spendenaktionen wie der "Wunder gibt es" Ball in Hamburg. Jeder Euro fließt zu 100% in die Projekte. Dies ist nur möglich, da keine Verwaltungskosten anfallen, weil sie ehrenamtlich vom Vorstand übernommen werden. Auch Reisekosten für die regelmäßigen Projektbesuche trägt der Vorstand selbst.

We are grateful for a bed to sleep in, a roof over our heads, warm meals, clean water, clothing, education, safety, friendship and the chance to grow up surrounded by care and community.

Gratitude is a value that is deeply rooted in everyday life at Omomas and a lesson every child carries with them as they grow.

And above all, we are thankful for every single person who makes this possible and supports us in any way. 💛
