This study provides results to predict tundra vegetation responses to climate change by simulating repeated winters with extreme warm spells leading to icing.

Icing effects should not be overlooked, and interestingly, warmer summers more than offset these effects. We urge circumpolar assessments of icing impacts on vegetation communities⛰️
