Skate World Better

Skate World Better In fall 2019 conducted a university project in Maputo, Mozambique. We built two public skateparks in the center of the city.

Currently, we are working on two new projects, in Swaziland and Zambia.

This is Lesotho. For many it may be a country somewhere in Africa, or perhaps a country you have never heard of, so here is a little information.

Lesotho is a land locked country, completely surrounded by South Africa. It sits high in the mountains so it is one of the few countries with a regular snowfall. You know what is rather bizzare? Lesotho has a snowpark, but it does not have a skatepark which is why act. The local community in Maseru, the capital city, is united under hosting many talented riders. Their only spot is a huge concrete slab (watch the video closely), so we’ve used it as an inspiration to our design. We plan to build a streetlike skatepark, resembling their “white spot”.

With many kids in the city, we chose the Lepereng district in the capital for the future skatepark. It is accessible by all, close to the center, open to public and maintained by the olympic committee of Lesotho.

Building a skatepark in Lesotho is a multi-year strategy of ours as it is in a close proximity to the centers in Swaziland and Mozambique. Their interaction is what we aim for.

Less than 10 months to go, Lesotho will soon have its first skatepark. Let’s go!

Happy new year to all our friends in and out of Africa !!!

It has been a while since we’ve delivered a new project to Africa, we just wait for the right moment. Having received EU and UN fundings for our past projects we ran out of international funding options. We took it upon ourselves and so we engaged voluntary work around Europe, exhibitions, lectures and screenings of our previous jobs in Mozambique, Zambia, Swaziland and Ethiopia. Most importantly, we work closely with and so we’ve accumulated budget for some new action.

Lesotho is announced, but there may be more. Give us one more year and in 2027 we will rock it real hard.

We won’t stop, we can’t stop!
Love, SWB.

THIS IS THE PLANNED SKATEPARK IN LESOTHO

The project is designed to meet all the parameters and at the same time be feasible to be constructed by a team of professionals within
a maximum period of five weeks. Lepereng is located in the center of the capital of Lesotho, Maseru. The land falls under the local Olympic Committee and the skatepark will be surrounded
by other sports facilities that will support the integrity of the entire area. The space will be publicly accessible, managed by the Olympic committee and the local organization
Lesotho Skateboarding. The secondary ambitions of this project includes a deeper connection of the centers in Mozambique, Swaziland and Lesotho. Geographically, they are in close proximity, and their deeper cooperation is therefore a multi-year strategy of the Skate World Better initiative.

IT IS OFFICIAL, we are going to LESOTHO in 2026.

[ENG bellow]

Let’s get it!

We are happy to announce a new project! We decided to support in Lesotho, the tiny landlocked state in southern Africa. After visiting the country in 2024 we managed to secure the land in the Lepereng neighborhood. The skatepark yet has the shape on a paper and the departure is well marked in our calendar. This time we will finance the project purely from sponsors contributions and both financial and technical support of

To celebrate this, we’d like to invite you to in Milady Horákové street. We will reveal the new project and drop the new merchandise that will be available at the store further on.

The event will also host a live skate session, screening of a short video from the completed project in Swaziland and photographs by from Ethiopia. Last but not least, and will close the evening with their sets!

See ya there!

By the end of the last year we’ve spent two weeks in Swaziland with the boys. We were in the area, researching for a new project, so we had to use the opportunity.

It was an exciting time, full of clapping and snapping tails over the concrete. It was endless amazing moments with the locals and it was a lot of effort put into capturing it all.

Soon, we’ll unveil all the mysteries. We have an exciting new project ahead and a couple new surprises to share with the world. Hold on a little longer, enjoy these rad photos from the park and wait for the new to drop soon with a full article in it!

In 2024, we paid a visit to the skatepark to see how much of a progress have the locals done over time. We were part of the first international competition held there and we also stacked some clips.

We proudly announce, that we plan a new project and we will be back with more information soon!

Big thanks to all the motivated builders and a special thanks to for his true dedication on the mosaic.
