🌱 We’re so grateful for everyone who made it to this beautiful launch event of the Women and Youth-led Network Alliances Programme!

Joined by farmers, students, teachers, agripreneurs, policy specialists, community leaders, diverse stakeholders came together to talk about how agroecology and organic agriculture promotes holistic ways of women and youth inclusion in agrifood systems. 🌾

The launch took place at Jero Farm, a local, urban agroecological hub 🍃in Entebbe, Uganda that grows organic food and collaborates with the community to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

We thank everyone who was part of this event, with special gratitude to our partners, GIZ, and our hosts at Jero Farm.

💫 The Women and Youth-led Network Alliances Programme will expand and build on the knowledge and initiatives under the Knowledge Platform for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology in Africa (KCOA), with women and youth at the core of all its activities. 🌍 It is being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in collaboration with YPARD, PELUM Kenya Association, and African Green Store Network.

Keep an eye out here for updates on the programme!

🌿 KCOA Consortium Member Meeting – Day 1 at Gero Farm, Entebbe 🌿

On 15th September 2025, partners under the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (KCOA)—YPARD, AGSN, and PELUM Kenya gathered at Gero Farm in Entebbe to deliberate on the new programme
The Women and Youth Network Alliances (WYNA) supported by GIZ.

The day began with a farm tour, where members explored innovative agroecological and urban farming technologies such as hydroponics, Natural pests and disease controls, and Waste-to-energy systems for clean cooking

Later in the day, members presented and aligned their programme workplans, laying a strong foundation for collaboration. Discussions also focused on preparations for the official launch of WYNA Programme on 17th September 2025.

Day 1 was a true reflection of the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and commitment to advancing agroecology and organic agriculture in Africa. 🌍
