What does confidence really look like, and are we getting it right? ✨

The Power Talks programme by Kérastase (L’Oréal) and the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic is tackling exactly that, addressing the confidence gap and supporting young women through mentoring, real conversations, and practical insights.

Yesterday’s offline flash mentoring session brought this topic to life with “The Girlboss Illusion vs. Quiet Confidence.” 💙

The evening opened with an introduction and welcome by Karolína Kabelka Wernerová, followed by a personal conversation and interview moderated by Alexandra Ilková, offering her perspective on confidence and career growth.

Participants then moved into a mentoring session and interactive workshop led by Lenka Vornhagen, PCC, creating space for reflection, shared experiences, and practical takeaways.

The room was filled with openness, curiosity, and the kind of conversations that don’t usually happen in everyday settings, the kind that actually stay with you.

10 meetings. 100 minutes. Countless new opportunities.

Yesterday, the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, together with AHK Tschechien/Česko-německá obchodní a průmyslová komora, the HST Chamber of Commerce Switzerland - Czech Republic and the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce, organised a dynamic Speed Business Meeting at Jalta Boutique Hotel in Prague.

This fast-paced networking format brought together a diverse group of professionals, each meeting 10 potential business partners through structured one-on-one sessions. The result? Efficient introductions, valuable conversations, and the discovery of new business synergies in a short amount of time.

The evening continued with informal networking over refreshments and dinner, where participants had the chance to deepen discussions and turn first introductions into meaningful connections.

A big thank you to all partners and participants who made this event such a success, we look forward to seeing these new connections grow.

A full house for our latest Business Breakfast ☕

We were pleased to welcome our long-term member and BCC Patron, Provident Financial s.r.o. (IPF), a British company with a strong presence in the Czech market, for an engaging discussion on their business development and market positioning.

We were delighted to host Radek Mlčák, CEO of Provident Financial s.r.o. (IPF), together with BCC Board Member Jiri Hauptmann, Corporate Affairs Director at Provident, who shared valuable insights into the company’s strategy and direction.

The session opened with remarks from Guy Barker, Chairman of the BCC Board, and continued with a discussion on leadership in consumer finance, product simplification, innovation, responsible lending, and operating in a regulated environment.

Breaking news! 🚨

A fleet of retired London Underground trains will be transferred to Prague to support the future launch of the new Metro D line.

The initiative, part of a “sustainable rolling stock reuse” partnership, aims to give iconic Tube trains a second life when the line opens in 2032, running between Pankrác and Depo Písnice. 🇬🇧➡️🇨🇿

Further details on refurbishment, deployment, and passenger experience are expected to be announced in the coming years!
