We're launching a new fundraiser! 🐢🌊

On Sulawesi, Indonesia, this year's Polman Ocean Fest, a festival that teaches kids to protect the ocean, sea turtles, and corals, is at risk of not happening. Laut Biru is short on the basic funds to run it.

Why does this matter? ❗️ Kids who understand today why turtles and coral reefs matter become the adults who protect them tomorrow. Not out of fear or rules, but because they understand and care. Education is the one kind of protection that lasts a lifetime.

Selfie, Jenny, Galaksi and Rumba. Four orphaned orangutans, four stories of loss and a new beginning. 🧡

They lost their mothers before they could learn to survive in the wild. Now they're growing up in Forest School in Borneo with the help of Orangutan Outreach – and a long road home awaits, through a forest that first has to be rebuilt. Rainforests in Borneo and Sumatra are disappearing to logging and palm oil plantations.

EUR 45 = five seedlings for reforestation

You know what's actually cool? A drone called SnotBot.

Ocean Alliance has spent years using it to collect samples from whales and tag them, all without ever touching them. Now it's learning something completely new: how to free a whale from a net. 🐋🛥

Entanglement in fishing lines is one of the biggest threats whales face. Right now, rescuing a trapped whale means bringing a boat, and a diver with a knife, right up to a terrified animal. The risk runs high on both sides.

SnotBot is set to do it differently. First, it assesses how severe the entanglement is. Then it deploys a tracking buoy so the team never loses sight of the whale. Next, it brings a cutting tool to the line and frees the whale step by step. And afterward, it keeps tracking how the whale is doing. 🐋

In Papua New Guinea, nine communities face the same pressure. Five of them, Opuopu, Sanalaki, Gogosiba, Niesa and Maibonabona, chose to say no and reached out to Cool Earth for help themselves.
