On the 2nd of October, ACTIVATE will be hosting it's final conference, named:
The "ACTIVATE Advocacy Showcase: Unveiling the Power of Youth Autistic Voices" conference.

Join us as we salute the project and recount the awesome journey that ACTIVATE has been!

The conference will bring together participants to reflect on the achievements and outcomes of the ACTIVATE project and explore future opportunities for disability advocacy and inclusion. The work on the ACTIVATE project has been led by autistic youths, the material developed will be shared with participants attending the conference.

Autistic Mothers' Project update! The results from EUCAP's interviews and survey with autistic mothers from across Europe are now available on the EUCAP website.

This EUCAP project, funded by the European Disability Forum, documents the experiences of autistic mothers in accessing and interacting with service systems in their countries.

Thirty autistic mothers in five European countries—Finland, UK, Hungary, Portugal and Belgium—were interviewed for the project. A survey was also conducted with an additional 42 autistic mothers from 11 countries.

The results are incredibly rich and informative and will serve as a basis from which EUCAP will continue to advocate for autistic mothers and their families. Results will be shared with autistic women and their supporters through our membership organisations, social media channels, as well as with policymakers and autistic activists engaged in political advocacy.

EUCAP President Heta Pukki presented preliminary results from the Autistic Mothers Project interviews at the Autscape Conference in the UK today. A few final interviews are also being done with conference attendees.

The Autistic Mothers project, which includes interviews with autistic mothers in 5 European countries (Hungary, Finland, Portugal, Belgium, and the UK) is funded by the European Disability Forum (EDF) through the Women with Disabilities Leading the Change sub-granting programme. The project explores the experiences, needs and barriers faced by autistic mothers, and puts autistic women’s lived experiences at the center of awareness-raising and advocacy, with the aim of contributing to better services, policies and opportunities.

LAST CHANCE: EUCAP's Autistic Mothers Project survey ends this week! Please submit your responses by August 14.

All autistic mothers (including those who are self diagnosed) are welcome to participate!

If you don’t identify as a woman, you can still participate, as long as you identify or have identified at some point in your life as a mother. Autistic trans men who have given birth are welcome to participate, as well as autistic trans women who have taken the role of mother in the lives of any child or children.

We primarily seek participants who have engaged with service systems in European countries while raising children.

The AskAnAutistic webinar created by the EUCAP team is now available as a recording on our YouTube channel.

This video features four young people from Czechia, Finland and Greece: Tomas, Meri, Nikolas and Konstantina. They speak openly about topics such as identity, terminology, school, vocational and university studies, sensory issues, their relationship to physical exercise, and the various ways they advocate for themselves. The discussion is facilitated by Dr. Angela Kingdon.

The survey of the Autistic Mothers project is now open!

What are the strengths and challenges that autism brings to motherhood? What are the types of support that work well, and where do our societies pile obstacles in our way?

If you have something to say about these topics, help us to raise awareness and develop advocacy materials by responding to this survey.

We will focus primarily on Europe, but responses from other parts of the world are also welcome.

We collect responses until 14th of August. Survey form on the page
